WISH UPON A STAR — VENUS IN PISCES — 2-26 — 3-21-2013
Hello dear Friends and Readers, now that Venus has entered Pisces that gives us 5, yes 5, planets in Pisces until the Spring Equinox March 20-21 depending on your time zone. AND, Mercury is retrograde, you’re probably noticing it by now…with Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Neptune all transiting through Pisces, it would be a good thing for you to note which house in your chart has Pisces on the cusp. We all have Pisces somewhere in our chart and often in 2 houses depending on the degree of the cusp. Pisces is very much about our spiritual aspiration and matters of conscience, so it’s important to be honest with yourself as well as other people, particularly now. If you feel ambivalent, then say so, don’t push yourself into a premature decision that you may regret later.
The mutable signs ( Gemini/Virgo/Sag) are going to be feeling the heat, especially since transiting Jupiter in Gemini is making squares to the Pisces planets, except for Neptune which has already happened and won’t come around again for approximately 12 years. Please try to slow down and doublecheck yourself, looking for mistakes in communication, paperwork, electrical matters, travel, transportation, etc. Virgo would be taking the oppositions — this could be a mystery involving someone close, someone you’re trying to figure out. Remember, too, that these are the health signs, so paying attention to your health is important right now. One more Virgo possibility would be issues with co-workers. The negative side of all this Pisces energy could be passive-aggressive behavior, avoid all behind the scenes gossip, rumors, innuendo. The people who participate in less than honest communication and behavior will pay penalties for it later. For Pisces natives, Happy Birthday!! You will be very busy for sure!! The positive side of such a concentration of Pisces energy is a sincere desire to help the planet, or animals, or people who are hurting. If you ask the Universe each morning, “OK Universe, where do you want me?” you will be guided to some amazing and very wonderful experiences. These could be spiritual or mundane, and really there is no difference. Be prepared for guidance through your dreams and meditations. Those of you who are creative could produce some very special art, music, writing, dance, photography, etc. Pisces people will do best during the next few weeks by allowing themselves some alone time each and every day for creativity. Your centers are so wide open right now that you may need to protect yourself from negative emotions radiating off of people. Learn how to clear yourself, through will, through affirmation, and a shower is a great help, too…
Pisces people may be working through something from the past, old hurts or trauma. Pisces can emerge from these transits stronger (Mars), clearer (Mercury), more at peace through forgiveness and letting go of pain (Venus and Neptune). When Venus is in our Sun sign, people are usually kind and remark often how beautiful you are — it’s because you are letting your inner light shine forth and being your true self. If Mercury wasn’t retro I’d suggest you go shopping when Venus conjoins your Sun. Keep your purchases on the small side in case you change your mind — yes, I hear you, one pair of shoes or a pedicure would be OK  :)) … This year just isn’t the right transits for major shopping, Pisces, unless you have good Venus transits from March 17th to 21st.
The other water signs, Cancer and Scorpio, should be feeling very much in the flow — good sense of intuition, timing, when to reconsider and when to approach the people in their lives. They should also be blossoming in their understanding of how to apply metaphysical principles to everyday life. Enjoy these Pisces trines now because the energy changes to Aries in late March…
The other earth signs, Taurus and Capricorn will be taking sextiles from the Pisces transits. A sextile means opportunity with some elbow grease required to maximize the positive potential. My impression is that the practical, down the earth nature of these signs will be softened by the Pisces energy and they can be more aware and appreciate the intangibles in life. With business deals, a good decision will FEEL right and you will know it. All parties involved need to benefit and if you have to make some concessions, you will KNOW that you are creating good karma for yourself. The items you need and imagine can appear in your life almost magically, so make your wish list. This is a great period to let some culture into your life — music, movies, tour the art museum, etc. Water benefits earth — it helps the garden grow  :))  Grow some sprouts at home so you know they are safe and add them to your salads for an early spring tonic… If you have houseplants, this is a great time to mist them with a small amount of liquid food in the water — the Sun is beginning to return to the north and the plants are waking up and ready to be fed  :))…
Leo and Libra people will take inconjunct (150*) transits from the Pisces planets. Always ask yourself first, with an inconjunct transit, who owns the problem? People can try to guilt-trip you into committing your time and energy to help them and it isn’t even your issue. Doublecheck yourself and make sure it isn’t you who is unconsciously inviting these inconvenient requests. Inconjuncts usually manifest at work and since Mercury is retro, be sure and ask astute questions to clarify the issues BEFORE you make your decision. If someone you love is hurting, of course you’re going to help them, but the point here is to help in a way that makes the person able to meet their own ordeal, helps them be stronger, not weaker. Sometimes if we charge in on the white horse, it weakens the person because they need to learn new skills and we rob them of that opportunity.
Aries and Aquarius people experience very mild, but helpful semi-sextile transits from Pisces planets for the next few weeks. These are 30 degree transits and use a tight orb, no more than 2 degrees. For Aries people, their usual vitality may be a little lower since it’s not quite their BDay yet. They like action and yet these Pisces transits  are encouraging planning and preparation BEFORE plunging into action next month. This would be a great period to begin strengthening your body, getting some exercise but MODERATION is a must at this time and watch your feet! If you are spacey, not your usual alert self, you could trip over something. Wear shoes appropriate for your activities and consider getting shoes repaired in advance of more action starting late March. These same suggestions would also apply to your pet. I know an Aries man who hikes with goats — his “Kids” — they need to get ready for the hiking season, too, after lounging around in the winter. Pay attention to your pets’ feet…
I know another Aries man who is determined to order a large amount of building materials while Mercury is retro… I mentioned to his wife that maybe she could get him to hold off for a few weeks but she said he wouldn’t listen. This is NOT the period to begin NEW projects, better to plan and doublecheck and do more research now.
Aquarians are also taking the semi-sextiles from Pisces but they’ve already had their BDay so their vitality is good. This is the time to move forward in small ways only and all the doublecheck for errors advice still applies to all of us. Since I am an Aquarian, I’ve been careful to doublecheck all the data for my clients, including correct addresses and phone numbers. I’ve spent a lot of time on the phone lately, both friends and clients. I’ve been clearing up loose ends on old cleaning and organizing projects and tentatively planning my schedule for March and April but staying pretty flexible and waiting for more information on a couple of larger projects and trips coming up after Mercury goes forward. I find myself being sensitive to the subtle clues that are there to guide my days — if I run into opposition I don’t push the river. I have some new subjects I want to write about and also some sewing projects lined up for the next few weeks, but I find myself waiting for it to really gel in my mind before I begin. I’ve had a few whopper dreams but once I got over the emotion of them I found some clues to help my family. I’ll be writing the Moon signs on the calendar for gardening season and starting seeds at the right time is a priority for me. My treat for getting work and chores done is to go outside and get the soil ready and feed the perennials. Naturally, other Aquarians would have different lives, activities and goals, but distill it down and this stands out — keep things simple and flexible for now and leave space in your schedules for new opportunities and people who want to connect with you…
That’s it for now…best wishes, Jenae

WISH UPON A STAR — MERCURY IN PISCES (AND RETROGRADE)   2-5 — 4-13 —2013

Dear Friends and Readers, hopefully you are enjoying Venus in Aquarius as much as I am; it’s been fun so far…Today’s post is about Mercury in Pisces, but we’ll also define what Mercury retrograde can mean in our daily lives.  Naturally, this transit will affect Pisces and the other mutable signs the most.  Let’s begin by defining the areas of life where Mercury has the most influence.  Mercury as the ruler of Gemini rules transportation, regional travel, electricity, early education and short classes that focus on specific skills, the neighborhood, siblings, and communication.  Gemini can be meetings; so can Virgo but the type of meetings would be more different — more to do with work, health, organizational details.  Mercury as the ruler of Virgo would put the emphasis on health, hygiene, diet and nutrition, co-workers, accounting and bookkeeping.  Mercury was the messenger and the scribe in mythology.  People with strong Virgo and Mercury in Virgo in their charts often end up in middle management, as the one communicating from the boss to the workers.  Troubleshooting and fixing problems come naturally to people with strong 6th house placements.

So…when Mercury goes retro, which is does for roughly 3 weeks and 3 times a year, it would be a good idea to doublecheck all paperwork, communication, appointments, addresses and phone numbers — make sure there is no mistake and be prepared to find mistakes and make corrections.  When I used to see a lot of local clients in person, someone would call for a palm reading and we’d schedule it.  Mercury retrograde usually manifested as that appointment being changed 3 times before it actually happened.  Scheduling conflicts, car problems, travel delays, electrical things not working correctly — these things are VERY common during a Mercury retro transit.  Regarding interpersonal communication, the chance for misunderstandings is higher during this transit.  You can try using the active listening technique to enhance communication…”Let me tell you what I heard you say and you tell me if I understood it correctly…”  This side-steps accusatory or defensive statements and seeks clarity without being judgmental — it’s a  very useful skill to have under your belt, ESPECIALLY when Mercury is retro :))

This rule of 3 times also applies to conversations where a decision needs to be made.  You’ll often find it takes 3 meetings or conversations to get enough clarity, info, etc. to make a decision.  Reviewing is a great use of a Mercury retro, as is research and  gathering additional info.  The time to move forward on projects is after Mercury goes direct ( in this post that would be March 17th).  Let’s use a fantasy example of how to plan your time for maximum effectiveness…right now Mars is in Pisces.  Maybe that means you want a fountain, a  waterfall,  or a pool in your yard.  Maybe you go down to City Hall and the Building/Planning Dept. and you apply to get your permit. You do this when Mercury is making the initial forward transit in Pisces, asking about the rules, setbacks, variances, fencing, depth, etc.  IF you submit your building plans during a Mercury retro, there’s a better than 80% chance they will want corrections.  Use the retrograde to research the materials, the style, who you want to hire, etc.  It will be a lot easier to move forward and do the actual submitting of plans, hiring help, purchasing materials, AND the groundbreaking, if you wait until after March 17.  Taking it a bit farther, please note that Mars, the ruler of Aries, rules iron ( think rebar), excavations, sharp tools, welding, etc.  Mars is currently in Pisces, which would be fine for water projects, BUT — if you wait until the SUN is in Aries and then look for a good Mars day after March 21 — then your GROUNDBREAKING — your initial PHYSICAL action on this project —  is now timed for maximum smoothness of execution.  Any problems encountered would be more easily solved. In this fantasy example, the real life date to begin would be April 5, 2013.

OK, you guys, I’ve been very busy with the clients and so now am running a few days later than I wanted for this post.  I’ve also been mulling the right way to approach it and now I have decided to just show you a FEW Mercury transits in action.  If you are a poet, or doing chemistry research, or calling on major pharmaceutical customers to make a sale, or having foot and/or shoe problems — all these things would be Pisces — then you’re better off getting your chart done as a planning tool.  There are a LOT of Mercury transits during this transit through Pisces.

For example, Mercury squares Jupiter in forward motion on 2-9 at 6 degrees Pisces.  Retrograde, Mercury again squares Jupiter on 3-10 at 8 degrees Pisces, and the wrap-up in forward motion will be the same square on 3-29 at 11 degrees Pisces.  Naturally, people with planets from 5 – 12 degrees in ANY mutable sign will feel the frustration of this square most acutely.  Be prepared to work hard and compromise if necessary.  Very difficult if you let over-optimism about timing put you in a situation where you promise more than you can deliver.  Looking at this square another way, be a bit skeptical about people promising things to YOU.  Be vigilant to spot errors and make corrections with any important paperwork, meetings, even personal conversations and family plans.  Don’t space out when you are driving either.  I usually try to avoid long trips when Mercury is retro, but if you must go somewhere, then  doublecheck everything, allow extra time, and be prepared for delays.  People in the entertainment industry will run into all kinds of glitches with the organizational  details of concerts, movies, live theatre, etc.  This transit is reasonable good for editing work that you have done previously, but take your time and extend deadlines if necessary.

Mercury trines Saturn at 10 degrees Pisces/Scorpio on 2—12.  The retrograde trine is 3-7 at 11 degrees and the last pass, in forward motion is 3-28 at 10 degrees Pisces.  Trines are lucky and flow easily.  These transits are great for creative writing, private detective work and solving mysteries, research in areas ruled by these two signs, and for medical issues.  Healing and improvement of health is very possible if you work with these transits.  Scheduling a medical appointment on a Mercury retro is only OK if it’s follow-up on previous issues — like a post-op appointment or lab work to check on an existing condition.  Combining natural healing and traditional medical could have very nice results…Pisces rules the unconscious mind.  If you have to have anesthesia, be sure to have the doctor say out loud that your surgery was a terrific success and that you can heal quickly, easily, and perfectly.  I actually wrote out a script for my doctor when I had surgery some years ago.  He cooperated,  good man, and all went well.  The idea here is you want to use these transits to put positive messages into your unconscious mind.  No matter what you need to read or study, these trines will make concentration and focus come a little easier and strong possibility to channel info from spirit to help you.  Ask for what you need before sleeping at night.  Pisces rules dreams…

Moon is conjunct Mercury at 8 degrees Pisces on 2-11, retro at 16 degrees Pisces on 3-10, and forward at 21 degrees Pisces on 4-8-2013. Mercury on the Moon gives voice to feelings, so these transits offer you the opportunity to express your emotions.  You may have the same conversation with a loved one  3 times but each time more understanding, clarity, and wisdom are  gained.  Good decisions will result from taking your time with this particular transit and letting things unfold as they will. I’ve written before about intention is the bottom line with Neptune/Pisces/12th house matters.  My impression about this transit is that people can uncover some hidden expectations that they were  carrying around and becoming aware and  releasing any hidden agendas will allow your closest relationships to blossom.

These are great transits to initiate spiritual practices, therapy, release old pain and move forward with your life.  Remember that the conjunctions are the most powerful transits because two planets in union produce a lot of energy.  Give voice to the deeper parts of yourself — keep a journal, confide in a  trusted friend, join a prayer or meditation group — all these are possibilities.  Sometimes when I am jammed up, talking to a friend does wonders!  No sooner are the words out of my mouth than I can see where my thinking is off-track so I can correct it.  Of course, for me it would be a friend, since I am Aquarius.  A mate, a sibling, any relative that you have a loving relationship with can be of great help to you  during this transit.  Maybe you need some help this time with figuring something out, but it could be that YOU are going to help another with this same process.  That’s what Pisces is about — alleviating pain and suffering and expressing spiritual love…

A client comes to mind…she had some catty relatives that said mean things.  I reminded her that their behavior said more about them than her.  She had a breakthrough and realized she didn’t want them in her life anymore; they were like the fake version of family instead of the real deal.  She had the  courage to let go of the  pain they had caused and move forward with her life.  Most of us will release the problem and then back-slide, chewing on the old hurts like a dog with a bone.  The thing with Pisces being a spiritual sign, letting go really MEANS letting go.  I struggle with this; I think we all do.  At this time in our evolution, there is no compromise.  You’re either on the side of the Light or feeding the darkness that is trying to envelop our planet.  Make your choice.  Letting go means letting go with love, blessing the experience, no matter how painful, because it has helped you become who you are today.  And maybe there was no other  way to get there…maybe it was really a shortcut in disguise…Blessings, Jenae

WISH UPON A STAR — MARS IN PISCES —  FEBRUARY 2 — MARCH 12, 2013

Good Morning dear Friends and Readers, I was thinking about this blog the other day, imagining various combos of the Mars-Neptune energy and found myself mentally composing a sentence that started with “All people working in these fields — chemicals, pharmaceuticals,  explosives, oil fields both on land and on sea, are going to need to use a lot of caution around this conjunction.”  Before I could even finish this blog two men sat on top of an oil storage container and the thing blew up and hurt them !!! Talk about sitting on a powder keg and lighting a match …SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL for the next few days !!!  I like to allow Mars about a week’s worth of orb for a major transit like a conjunction, so Mars and Neptune are conjunct February 4th, so we’re in that transit NOW.  I would add metal work and welding to the areas to be very cautious.  Let’s say you’re a soccer mom and you want to know how this transit might apply to you.  Think CARS — get that safety check — all fluids — Mars as metal and Neptune as fluids — chemicals, oil, water, etc. Check the oil, the brake fluid, the water pump, the radiator, the battery fluid, de-icer  in the windshield reservoir,  and the lines that feed or transport the  fluids.  This applies to all of us.  I was doing my young cousins’s chart the other day and he wanted to buy a car for his sweetie — he has a lot of Pisces in his chart.  I reminded him that Mercury was about to go retrograde IN Pisces, and square transiting Jupiter in Gemini several times between now and late March.  Forget it, cuz, test drive, compare, do your research but don’t buy until late March or April.  He already bought a rig during a Mercury retro transit and had nothing but trouble and repairs.  I reminded him of that, too.  He wasn’t happy with me about waiting, but I told him the truth.  We’ll see what he does…sometimes I think my name should be Cassandra (mythology), the people I love the most rarely listen while total strangers do and thank me later…

Let’s look at the spiritual side of this transit.  If Mars is action and Neptune in its own sign of Pisces is aspiration, compassion, and Universal love — what a great time to put what you most believe in,  into practices of some form — yoga, meditation, dream analysis, charitable actions directed at both people AND animals…these are just a few possibilities.  Taking a First Aid class would also fit because it would prepare you to aid others in an emergency.  Looking at spiritual intent directed to actions in the real world, this is a great transit to have a home safety drill for parents and children. And to go through the house and garage and eliminate hazards.  I have a feeling we’ll hear a lot about firemen and health practitioners  helping in emergencies this month…

On the intellectual level, this could be a creative time but also Mars could be interpreted as impatience with the ambivalence and potential confusion of Neptune.  Mars likes to take action but with both of these planets in a dual sign (2 fish swimming in opposite directions) there could be a lot of endless debating over the options.  Ultimately, the best decisions come from taking some quiet time to hear what your heart knows.  If you push to decide, just to be done with the situation, you could find that you have to re-do everything again later this month, or worse — regretting the decision you made impulsively.  So whatever you are dealing with, take your time and try to be patient.  Just for the record, here are the 3 conjunctions of Mars and Mercury — February 8, retro February 26, and May 8 (in Taurus) so the same issue could arise 3 times before resolution during the May period.  Of course if you’re doing chemistry research then you can use the retro to review test results and come up with creative solutions and then the confirmation of your work should arrive in May. Hard to know on what level these transits are going to affect your life without having an individual chart to study and meditate on…

Mundane possibilities are endless — a great time to take a yoga class or dance lessons, get your shoes repaired, be careful walking on icy streets, learn photography, take your pet to the vet, buy a  water purifier, doublecheck all medications you are taking, help and/or visit someone you love who is ill or confined, study chemistry or marine biology, use subliminal tapes or self-hypnosis to reprogram your life…

We should look at the other Mars transits as it moves through Pisces.  Do keep in mind to allow about a week of orb around the exact dates.  I already mentioned Mercury conjunct Mars on 2-8 and again with Mercury retro on 2-26.  Mars is action and Mercury is words, ideas, communication of all kinds.  Put these two together and a lot of voltage is possible.  Rather than an out and out fight, since Pisces is involved it’s more likely to be passive-aggressive, more covert in nature.  It’s always a good idea to avoid gossip, rumor, and innuendo, but particularly so when the mutable planets are involved.  So watch what you say and do or it will come back to bite you.  Looking at the positive possibilities of this conjunction, pay attention to the house position in your chart.  When we “walk our talk” we can get a lot accomplished.  My impression is you can begin some kind of major decision process at this time — it may take a while to complete, but this is good for starting lists or discussions of all the various pros and cons.  Another possibility would be fixing plumbing around the 8th — if you KNOW you need something repaired, don’t delay — get it done before 2-23 (Mercury retro).  And pay attention to your dreams !!  If you are making excuses to yourself about something or someone, your dreams will probably bring it to the surface.  You know, Pisces is a compassionate sign.  The very qualities of Pisces that shine as a light to others can also make a Pisces more vulnerable to the liars, cheats, and con artists roaming around looking for a victim.  If someone says all the right words, but you feel uncomfortable and your gut tells you something is off — TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!! You have protection but you need to pay attention to those signals.  One time when I was pretty young, I didn’t do that and I had an heirloom ring from my Grandma stolen from me as a result. It was a very painful lesson…

Mars  squares Jupiter exact on 2-10.  Squares can symbolize hard work, big accomplishments, and also challenge/frustration and the need to make adjustments.  Don’t space out when you are driving and pay attention to any signals that your car needs attention.  Not the best day to argue about philosophy or religion either.  Mostly this period is more about managing time and expectations instead of giving in to the over-optimism of this combination. Students could so quite well at this time if they apply themselves.  The same with writers.  People in physical occupations will need to be a little cautious, reminding themselves they are not Superman :))…

Mars conjunct Chiron exact 2-12 — good for pedicures and medical appointments in general.  This is particularly good for investigating the psychological basis for any illness or pain in your life.  If you heal the “dis-ease” on the mental/spiritual level, the body will heal in response.  A friend posted something wonderful on my FB yesterday — we should forgive not because the people who hurt us deserve forgiveness, but because WE DESERVE PEACE !!  Long-term carrying of anger and grudges leads to illness.

Mars sextiles Pluto on 2-15 exact and Mars trines Saturn on 2-16.  Keep in mind that Pluto and Saturn are currently in mutual reception to each other (each in the other’s signs) and the 3rd week of February could be very productive and satisfying.  Focus, discipline, and digging deep to unlock secrets will be rewarded.  Career matters are favored, but really this transit could apply to many different areas.  Where is the mystery in your life?  What do you wish to learn more about?  I watched a show called DIGGERS — two guys with metal detectors helping people find stuff at historical sites.  Lots of people use them at the beach or at construction sites.  A great week to go digging — literally, too :)).

Mars inconjunct Moon 2-23 and 24 and again on 2-28 and 3-1 — Don’t allow other people to manipulate you into doing something you’d rather not.  This could especially apply at work but be on the watch in other areas, too.  Better to say no than say yes and wish you hadn’t.  There’s a particular scenario I call “the tyranny of the weak” where someone tries to persuade you to help them through pretending incompetence.  Stay alert !!

Mars trine Moon on 3-3.  The transits from Mars to the Moon are more fleeting; obviously you don’t need to allow a week of orb since the Moon changes signs every 2 ½ days.  But this is a fun one so I thought I’d mention it.  Moon will be in Scorpio for this trine.  This transit is good for mysteries, good for close encounters of the romantic kind. It’s also good for healing people, animals, and the environment.  Action and emotions flow easily together at this time…

Mars in 135 degrees from Saturn exact on 3-7.  This transit can annoy some people if a lot of small things being glitchy  add up to a bummer day.  It will tend to affect people who are fussy about details.  Try and keep the big picture in mind and side-step the eccentric or fussy people if you can.  The one exception would be any seniors that you care for directly.  It will help you keep your balance to remember that people who are confined or ill or whose world is very small tend to fuss about the little things because they feel that loss of control so deeply. Compassion helps. And your actions NOW are teaching your children how to care for YOU when you are older…

Full Moon is 2-25 at 7 degrees Virgo.  Pisces-Virgo Full Moons often bring health issues to the surface, as well as people who tend to criticize and project it outward onto others  rather than acknowledge they are being too hard on themselves. Jupiter squares, too, forming a T-square that pushes a lot of energy out the empty sign — Sag this time — so keep the big picture in mind…easy to say,  quite hard to do sometimes… that’s all for now…more soon…Blessings, Jenae
