WISH UPON A STAR — The 2014 Cardinal Grand Cross — April 23, 2014

Hello dear Friends and Readers, I’ve been getting a lot of calls from clients asking about the Cardinal Grand Cross that will be exact on April 23rd. I have written previously (look in the archives) about the 5 squares between Uranus and Pluto. This April will be the 4th one, with the additional pressure of Jupiter in Cancer and retrograde Mars in Libra exactly square the Uranus-Pluto square at 13 degrees. Hence the name — Cardinal Grand Cross.

There have been a lot of good articles about this event written by other astrologers. No one human has a corner on the truth, but by all of us contributing our thoughts about this event, we may be able to get a sense of where things are heading. Remember, if I can think of 10 possible interpretations, the Universe can produce 1000.

If you look at the past 3 squares, they coincide with extreme weather patterns, among other things. Square are symbols of tension, frustration, and the need to make adjustments. Earthquakes release tension. In the news lately, Chile has had swarms of little earthquakes in the northern part of their country. Some scientists are concerned that because this is a new pattern, it could be a precursor of a very large quake. If you take a map of the world and plot the quakes, you will see that the last few years show increasing geological activity. Here in the Northwest, we had a tragic mudslide due to extreme amounts of rain. Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn symbolize these types of events.

When you look at the square between Mars and Uranus, there is definite tension for air travel. Perhaps the tragedy of the missing plane is symbolized by this approaching square. I would not let anyone I care about travel by plane from approximately April 21 through 25th — after that the energy eases a bit. I remember many years ago, that the Challenger blew up in front of a whole generation of school kids. That tragedy coincided with a conjunction between Mars and Uranus. This one is a square. Here is one possibility — there is a volcano in Iceland that is on the verge of a large eruption, according to the scientists. Enough ash and planes would be grounded. That would make air travel even more of a hassle than it already is. My unsolicited advice is to be cautious and conservative and try to stay home on the 23rd.

Could it be a war? Well, our planet is full of wars already. Could it be a new war? Possibly. I read a book years ago based on the math of the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid. It predicted the extreme weather we are having and also said when the world grew weary of so much fighting, only then would we have peace.

Could it be more problems with our food supply? Very possibly. I’ve been trying to make that point for a couple years, that people should try to be more self sufficient, grow a garden, support their LOCAL farmer’s market, etc. The extreme weather is playing havoc with crops. Already in the US there has been serious crop damage in both the South and in California. Too much cold, too much water, not enough water, a hot summer predicted, etc. The other part of Jupiter in Cancer is there is a growing body of evidence that what we eat affects our health AND MENTAL HEALTH, in ways we’ve never thought of before. I am trying very hard to switch from sugary foods to healthier ones. Reports came out that sugar can cause inflammation. There was also a Swedish study that indicated dark chocolate was good for the heart. So I am eating a piece of dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. So far, so good. Once I got used to the dark stuff, I stopped having cravings for the sugary version.

I also try very hard to follow Pope Francis’ request to not waste food. Jupiter in Cancer should be an abundance of food but these squares challenge the status quo. One out of every four children in the US is living below the poverty level. Children need adequate protein for brain development. Here’s an example of what needs to change — I read this morning that someone is dumping a million jars of perfectly good peanut butter. Part of a bankruptcy in New Mexico? Someone, maybe the State AG or the Governor, should threaten to arrest and fine those people unless they immediately donate the jars to food banks who need help so desperately.

Check out your chart and be aware if you have planets at 13 degrees. Most everyone will have at least one Cardinal planet. Allow a couple degrees for orb. Note which planet you have near 13 degrees and the aspects it makes to this Cardinal Grand Cross. In particular, note which houses in your chart are affected by the Cross. This will give you clues of what to be careful about.

This Cross hits the US chart hard. We already have financial and economic problems, political problems, geological problems, nuclear problems, weather problems, bad guy problems, etc. Just use your common sense and make some preparations in case there’s another emergency. Have gas in the car, propane for the BBQ, extra drinking water and food, flashlight batteries, keep your phone charged, get any medical PX filled so you don’t run out, etc. IF the power goes out for a few days, you’ll be glad you did what you could to be prepared. None of us know the exact nature of the events which could unfold. I’ve done my best to give some clues and keep people safe.

I hear you…Gee, Jenae, isn’t there anything positive about these transits? Well, I have seen these Grand Crosses in peoples’ NATAL charts and what happens is these peoples’ lives have periods of relative tranquility and then a transiting planet sets off the cross and all hell breaks loose. One particular teacher comes to mind — she was an elementary school teacher. And when her cross was activated by an outer planet transit, she was absolutely heroic about crusading for change within the system for the good of the students. I’ve watched her life for about 30 years. She took on the School District, she took on the local government, later she took on the police system, and one time it was more personal , in court due to an inheritance. She was just a little bitty woman but she had tremendous courage and energy and the will to right wrongs for the good of the kids…

I read one time in one of the Seth books that people who choose to live in areas where weather emergencies are common are seeking to experience brotherhood — the teamwork that comes from working together to save peoples’ lives. When the chips are down, humans can rise to greatness. Ordinary people become heroes. Bonds are forged that will never be forgotten. Brotherhood is a very special kind of love…Stay safe and let’s see what unfolds, Blessings, Jenae

Hello dear Friends and Readers, last night I fell asleep thinking about the new little angels from Oklahoma, and those from Sandy Hook, and reaching back, the children caught in the Oklahoma City bombing many years ago. When I woke up this morning, in my mind was a picture of a school, a new school that would be a lot safer. I read in the news that some of the buildings needed for safety and shelter were themselves damaged. There’s a company in Texas that makes domes, sprayed concrete reinforced with rebar.  They are very energy efficient, too, and I’ve seen pictures of some big enough for a gym or a church.  The wind would blow over the curves instead of tearing the roof off. They’re fireproof, too, which would save the school districts on fire insurance. If any of my readers are from OK, I wish you would plant this idea with the people that will be rebuilding the schools.  Additionally, if they were set part way into the earth, like a half-basement, that would give additional safety.  There would still be plenty of room for windows and a concrete ramp with good drainage would give access to all and make it even easier for the handicapped, too. Schools can be rebuilt, lost lives cannot.

This, my friends, was one more manifestation of the Uranus square Pluto energy.  There are a total of 5 and one was exact on May 20th( yesterday). The whole planet is in upheaval and I have addressed this in earlier posts, but I would like to point out the symbolism of these planets as far as the tornado.  Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius, which is an air sign. WIND… Uranus is a fast, unexpected, and spasmodic energy.  This monster tornado came out of nowhere and very quickly tore peoples’ home and lives apart.  Uranus is also the ruler of computers and technology inventions, and social media, too. Group stuff… Years ago, in one of the Seth books, he said the reason people live in Tornado Alley, or places that are prone to  disasters, is for the experience of brotherhood.  Some very wonderful things are happening on Facebook that are new.  There’s a FB page, and people post pictures of pets they’ve found, pictures and sentimental items that  turned up in their yard, anything of value that can help those who have lost everything.  And Joplin, MO, sent help to OK as a way of giving back. True expressions of brotherly love…some people are at their finest when things are at their worst.

Pluto in mythology was the god of the underworld.  As the ruler of Scorpio, Pluto is often symbolized as the phoenix rising from the ashes. Pluto, The Destroyer, is also the symbol for transformation and regeneration. The tornado (Uranus square Pluto) has had the result of destroying a whole town.  Some souls are gone and some peoples’ lives will never be the same, but others will be determined to rebuild and renew, to give some hope to the victims.  And hopefully, out of this tragedy, will come inventions,  and continuing improvements in forecasting weather and building techniques, too.  Maybe someone will do scientific experiments with hurricane glass, to see its limit and if it can stand the force of a tornado.

So you see, you guys, there are many potential manifestations of powerful transits.  If we can think of 10 meanings, the Universe can produce 1000 and they still all fit into the definitions of particular transits.  Unfortunately, these squares are not over and these are tough times. Squares, as I’ve written before, are the symbol for challenge, frustration, and the need to make adjustments. Without a square or two, or three, in a natal, it would be hard to get anything accomplished.  Hard to accept this when we see the devastation all over the world as well as in the USA. I urge you to know your natal chart, study it, and take note of the houses in YOUR chart where these two planets are in square and also any aspects FROM them TO your natal planets.

That’s it for now…more soon…Blessings, Jenae

WISH UPON A STAR — VENUS IN TAURUS — APRIL 15 – May 9, 2013

Hello Dear Readers and Friends, Venus enters Taurus today, such an appropriate transit for gardening, landscaping, even sitting under a tree to enjoy the day.  Venus rules Taurus so there is a harmony here, a little easier to be in the flow and attract to yourself  the resources that you most need.  Let’s begin with a short list of Taurus qualities and activities symbolized by this sign.  Remember some of the earlier lessons, too…Venus rules the 2nd house in the natural wheel of the zodiac.

Taurus is art, beauty, sculpture, gardening, forestry and trees in general.  It is one of the music signs.  Taurus is banking, personal money, our earthly possessions, and  developing our talents.  People with a lot of energy in the 2nd house like hobbies and they often and up turning their hobbies into a 2nd (or 3rd) career.  Taurus loves wholesale connections, a good sale, and auctions, yards sales and flea markets.  This sign rules wooden things and upholstery is a possible talent.  They like to shop for the home and decorate their lives, verging on gaudy at times but there’s nothing wrong with gold-gilded cherubs, crystals hanging in the windows,  and gold or silver throw pillows, sequins, etc.   Dolly Parton is a Taurus.

Taurus likes a well-stocked pantry and they like comfort.  Venus in Taurus rules the throat and if the weather is still cold in your area, your neck needs to stay warm but you should use pure fabrics, not polyester — cotton, wool, silk — all these are better to avoid a chill.

So…putting all this together, for the next 3+ weeks, it will be a good time to pursue the above interests and activities.  Most of the transits are pleasant.  A couple are potentially glitchy.  We’ll start with those and get them out of the way…

Bear in mind that if Venus is squaring or opposing a lot of planets in your chart, it will take more effort to manifest your goals.  Taurus is a fixed sign.  They are patient and kind and slow to anger but if they do get mad, look out !!!  The charging Bull is dangerous.  The downside can be laziness and possessiveness, qualities that make healthy relationships a lot more difficult.

I like to allow a day or two on either side of an exact Venus transit.  On April 22nd, Venus opposes Saturn in Scorpio.  This could be a sad time, with people feeling a lonely or a lack of affection in their lives.  It could also be partners opposing each other regarding money, purchases, investments, etc.  I’ve been telling my private clients this year, since Saturn is in Scorpio, that it’s important to update their wills, trusts, medical and/or financial POA forms, advanced health-care directives, and guardianship papers for those with young children.  These are serious matters and some parents have chosen to have the physical and financial guardians be different people, another way of protecting their children.  Nobody likes to think about all these dire things, but advance planning can give us peace of mind.  In general, Venus opposite Saturn is not a time for shopping unless it’s something like office supplies.  However, the serious tone of this transit makes it a good period to deal with the Scorpio issues mentioned above.

Full Moon this month is on April 25th, with the Moon in Libra. There’s an emphasis on independence versus cooperation and partnerships could be stressed.  ANY important one on one relationship. The day after, the 26th, could be the after-ripples and Venus opposes the Moon (in Scorpio) and the Moon conjoins Saturn later in the day.  There could be difficulties with women.  NOT a good day to have  a party, even though it’s on a Friday.  It’s not a good shopping day, either, because you might wish later that night that you hadn’t made the purchase.  Those of you who are caring for an elderly person could find that stubbornness becomes a big issue.  Another version, it’s not a great day to go to lunch with your mother-in-law.  I think some of you will have a heart to heart, serious talk, with a woman you love who is having big problems.  Compassion and empathy.  Be there for her…

The rest of the major Venus transits are really quite pleasant.  On April 19th, Venus sextiles Neptune in Pisces.  Sextiles mean opportunity with a little effort required to make your dreams and goals come true.  This is a great transit for finding peace of mind through the beauty of nature.  There’s an old saying, “Seek beauty for therein lies Eternal Truth.” This transit combines earth and water.  Playing around with it, you can get a mud mask at a spa, visit a park by the sea or by a lake, build a meditation garden in your backyard, even listening to music or a movie that brings out thoughtfulness and insight — all of these could apply.  By now you should have read enough of these posts that YOU are getting the hang of how to interpret the combinations of energy that the planets symbolize.  One of the nicest things about this transit is friendship that is both practical and spiritual.  Treasure your friends…

On the 21st, Venus trines the Moon — great for social times, lunch with females, shopping, too.  With the Moon in Virgo, you can buy vitamins or health products, visit a plant nursery, buy clothes for work, even something like products to clean your home.  You’re likely to find some very good deals.  This is a great day for gardening, too.  Fertile Moon in the 2nd quarter means plant above ground plants with vines — like peas and beans,
cukes if you’re in a warmer climate.

On April 23rd, Venus is 30 degrees, semi-sextile to Uranus in Aries.  Helpful to try new techniques, new products, be innovative.  You can hear some good news, unexpectedly.  Also, intuition is subtle but it’s there, so pay attention.

Venus trines Pluto in Cap on the 24th.  This one is very good for all things financial and practical — shopping for practical items, investments, starting a savings account, too.  You could receive praise at work for a job well done, even a bonus or a raise.  Another way to use this transit is to invest in yourself — spend some time and/or  money on furthering your skills, talents, and hobbies.  Still another way to use this transit would be straightening out your office or paperwork at home, particularly if you can’t find some important papers, because Pluto will help you find them as you organize yourself.  This is also a good day to get repairs done on office equipment or tools that you need for work.

Venus trines the Moon in Capricorn on the 30th — great for shopping and finding bargains of all kinds, a business lunch, socializing with the elderly, decorating your workplace or office.  It’s also good for health appointments re: bones, joints, and teeth (Capricorn).   If you’re planning cosmetic dentistry, you need more than just this simple transit to choose the right day.  The planets MUST  line up with your personal chart.  Sure, if you’re a Taurus or a Capricorn and your Venus is compatable, then go ahead — but remember the beginning of this post — if you are Leo, Scorp, or Aquarius then beauty treatments  are not as favorable on this day.

The Moon in Pisces sextiles Venus on May 5th.  This is the time to focus on your dreams and your wish list.  There is a lot of spiritual support around you, both visible and invisible.  Great for church, counseling, meditation, support groups, etc.  A great time, too, to  visit someone who is ill or confined, bring the love to them.  Music could be very inspiring in your life.  TG most of it is free these days on the internet.  I think the most important thing to remember with this transit is that the heavenly realms are made of such beauty and love that the most inspiring sights and loving experiences  on earth are but a pale reflection.  Still, the veil parts just a bit when Venus and Neptune combine, allowing us  to bring that love and beauty down to earth, if only for a little while…to remind us what awaits us on the other side, and to sustain and encourage us on our path here.  No matter how difficult life may seem, we are not alone.  Our loved ones on the other side are cheering us on…it takes guts and courage to make our way in this world.  Earth is a tough school, no doubt.  Look at today…I looked up Boston and the Moon is 25 degrees Cap — the transiting Mars-Sun conjunction in Aries today was 25-26 degrees.  An exact square.  There’s a lot of slimebuckets in this world.  I HTG they catch them before they can hurt anyone else.  Sometimes when these tragic events happen, the greatest love, brotherhood, and heroism manifest as a result.  Victory in the face of evil…

Stay safe, dear Readers…Blessings, Jenae
