WISH UPON A STAR — VENUS IN SAGITTARIUS DECEMBER 15, 2012 — JANUARY 9, 2013

OK, dear Readers and Friends, the top search term is for Venus by far.  Not surprising, since the world could use some love as the antidote to war, hate, prejudice, despair, etc.  Venus appears in the sky as either a morning star or an evening star.  What this means in peoples’ charts is Venus will either be in the same sign as the Sun, or one sign ahead, or one sign after.  Once about every two years, Venus   goes into retrograde motion for about 6 weeks.  That’s about a year away from now.

At this time Venus is travelling behind the Sun, so Venus enters Sag just before the Sun enters Capricorn…this transit is less than a month long.  Naturally, people with their Sun in late Sag or in Cap are going to be the main beneficiaries of this transit.  Venus on your Sun, or on other planets in your natal in these 2 signs, means that  life will be a little sweeter and easier for you.  People will be kinder and more cooperative and generous.  Venus works on the attraction principle so it will be easier to draw to you that which you seek.  The first step is knowing what you want.  Try making a wish list.  Write it down and place the paper where you will see it everyday.  For those of you who are seeking love, it is important to know what qualities you are seeking in a partner.  There should be 10 or 12 traits on your list.  Those of you who need more money or money to purchase items you want or need should apply the same principle — make a check to yourself and place it where you will see it a lot.  Same thing with a wish list of items you need.  One time many years ago I needed a bunch of winter clothing for the kids.  We had moved to a colder climate so it was a necessity.  I made my list. About 2 months later a check arrived  for the needed amount.  It was a retroactive pay raise from the job I had just left.  Amazing how this stuff works.  You write down what you need and release attachment as to HOW it might come about — just give it to the Universe…

If it’s artistic inspiration you need — remember Venus is love, art, beauty — then look up the name in mythology of the muse you need and visualize yourself, every day, receiving inspiration.  Think about this also just before you go to sleep each night.  And don’t be specific about where the inspiration has to come FROM, just know that it WILL.  By the way, the great artists that have passed on often function as spirit guides to artists here on earth.  They  help in response to your own focus, concentration and passion for your art.

Venus in Sag is particularly good at attracting information and knowledge for others.  Again, be alert and aware because the information you are seeking can come from your research, but ALSO from a chance encounter in a waiting room, from the TV, from a magazine that falls out of the rack at your feet, etc.  SO… don’t limit yourself.

People with late Gemini or early Cancer rising are going to have Venus transiting through their 7th house of partnerships.  This gives you an opportunity to meet someone special, to come to agreements with partners, to enjoy more love and affection.  So many people don’t seem to understand that love begins over the breakfast table.  It’s putting your hand on your loved one’s shoulder as you pour the juice or coffee or tea.  It’s making the lunches with little surprises tucked inside.  It’s taking the time to tell your sweetie you hope they have a good day before you leave the house, remembering, of course, that they have an important meeting that day and acknowledging it.

People who want more love need to start by honoring and loving themselves.  Doing this in small ways pays off big time.  The Universe  reflects back to us what is inside us.  The outer world mirrors our relationship with ourselves.  Do you have a picky, critical mate and feel stuck and unappreciated?  Maybe you need to be kinder and gentler to YOURSELF first.  Really anchor that in, how you treat yourself, affirm your self-respect and self-esteem daily, and watch the world start to reflect that back to you.  We often meet qualities in ourselves through our partners, aspects of ourselves that we  don’t acknowledge consciously.  I have watched these principles in action over many years and either the relationship will bloom, or the person will bloom and gain the courage and self-respect not to tolerate anything less than REAL love.

Venus doesn’t make too many major transits at this time.  Let’s take a look at what’s happening during this time frame…

Venus squares Neptune on December 16th.  I usually allow orb of a day on either side of the exact transit.  This square could indicate a hangover from excessive partying the night before.  We could feel foggy today, not quite with it.  Not a good day to splurge and break your budget.  Definitely a good day to visit someone who is ill or confined — to show compassion, understanding and emotional support to someone who is having a rough time or a crisis. For some people, their pets are the ones who are going to need the love..

Venus trines Uranus on Wednesday the 19th.  This one is fun for spontaneous rapport and telepathy with other people, including potential partners.  You could receive unexpected good news, information, or a gift.  Don’t be surprised if you think about someone and they call you within a few minutes.  Great for going out with friends or a group situation.

Moon in Aries trines Venus on the 20th — this one is great for going somewhere new, or trying something new.  Initiative can be rewarded.  Nice for social life, particularly with women.  Shopping looks pretty good, too.

Venus opposes Jupiter on December 22nd and 23rd, depending on your time zone.  This is a more major transit and people need to be careful about the famous Sag tendency of too much of a good thing.  Excess would be more likely here, as would people around you who think they can get something for nothing.  How might this manifest in our lives?  I get a couple of impressions here.  For one thing, the scammers and pickpockets will be out in full force.  Pay attention and don’t let your guard down if you’re out and about, last minute shopping, etc.  Donating to official charities is OK.  You can look up online to see which ones have the most reasonable admin fees.  The other impression is more about being in social situations where a part of you feels reluctant or ambivalent about the people you are with.  Maybe this is a family situation involving  in-laws or other relatives?  Rather than resenting the obligation and feeling boxed in, try to accept that you drew these people into your life for a reason and see if you can figure out what reason, what there is to learn from the situation.  If they are pushy, clueless and insensitive,  then be glad you are not !!  Overall, don’t let yourself be talked into doing anything you don’t feel good about.  If you have to say no to something, use the Sag humor to get you through it.  Be very moderate with alcohol so no one can try to take advantage of you.  No drinking and driving !! The weather can make driving more difficult — allow extra time and be a defensive driver.  Some people will be going on a special trip as a gift — they would be the ones with major trines and sextiles  from their natal to this opposition.

The Moon in Gemini opposes Venus the  day after Christmas.  It’s a busy time for most women and you may miss your female friends and also loved ones who have departed this earth.  It’s not a bad day but there seem to be a lot of distractions and less cooperation than you would like.  For male-female relationships, this opposition makes it harder to agree on social plans, especially if there are ex’s involved and step-children.  Do your best to be tolerant.

On January 5th, 2013, Venus sextiles the Moon in Libra.  This is a very nice time to meet someone new or to enjoy the love relationship you have.  Laughter and shared  social plans predominate.  A very nice weekend I would think. Since Venus is in Sag, places to meet someone new might be libraries, bookstores, while travelling, possibly at the local pub, at a church or college function,  even at the horse races or a dog show :)) — Venus in Sag rules horses and large dogs.  The main thing is to follow your own interests and have some fun.  If you don’t like dogs, then why go to a dog show in the hope of meeting someone?

Venus enters Capricorn on January 9th, technically the 8th in US time zones.  So, Venus is at 29 degrees Sag during most of that Tuesday.  Remembering that the last degree of a sign, the 29th, is a critical degree, then pay attention to the Sag tendencies of excess, speed, over-optimism.   There are no harsh or  challenging aspects to Venus at this time.  The 29th degree could just symbolize some kind of philosophical or mystical breakthrough.  It’s also a wonderful transit for writers and musicians, creative types who use words, in the sense of  wrapping up a big project and/or connecting with kindred spirits at a distance.  People who write ads or commercials should plan for a brainstorming session, too.  There could be something spectacular in the news about teachers — let’s hope it’s the positive type of news…

The next Venus post for Capricorn will have quite a lot of major transits…stay tuned…comments and suggestions are welcome…Blessings, Jenae

WISH UPON A STAR — VENUS IN SCORPIO — NOVEMBER 21 – DECEMBER 15, 2012

Good evening dear Friends and Readers,  Let’s take a look at Venus transiting through Scorpio, a general overview and then we’ll cover some specific transits during this time period.

If you have beneficial aspects from Venus to your natal, this is definitely the time to buy those silk boxers or lingerie from Victoria’s Secret, maybe even try some perfume with phrenomes  in it. Venus energy works through attraction.  With Mars, we go out and go after what we want.  With Venus, we attract what we desire TO us.  Venus symbolizes love, art, beauty, affection, social life, and money since Venus rules Taurus as well as Libra.  Scorpios in particular may be the recipients of kindness, good will, and money during this transit.  With Venus money can also mean shopping.  If you have Venus on your Sun, and Mercury is in fwd motion, by all means go shopping.  You will find items you love and at good prices, too.

I review on my blog site the search terms people use to find my posts.  There have been a couple that seem to indicate some Scorpios are having  trouble with confidence and self-esteem.  One reason is that Scorps are so honest with themselves, even brutal in exploring the dark side of human nature in themselves and others that they forget to balance the energy by affirming their strengths and talents.  Venus in your Sun Sign can help you be a little kinder and gentler with YOURSELF.  REMEMBER, please, that we create our reality through our beliefs and expectations.  IF you think everyone is out to get you, then that’s what you’ll attract.  Complicating your life at the moment is Saturn also moving through Scorpio, much more slowly than Venus, putting pressure on you to be aware of your weak points and start fixing them.  You have such a better chance than many other signs; if anyone can reinvent themselves, it’s a Scorpio.  Venus can help you with this process.  Begin by beautifying yourself and your environment.  Get a haircut, take care of your skin (our largest organ).  Get off the couch and take a short walk after dinner or put some dance music on if you want to start reinventing your body.  Put something beautiful in each room of your home.  These can be simple things, the point is you are expressing your will by allowing something you love into your life.  Same thing if you want a mate or partner — make room in your home and your life as the first step.  Make a wish list of the qualities you are seeking in a mate.  If you have someone in your life who is critical of you, understand that it is a reflection that you are being too hard on yourself.  As you change inside, your life will also reflect those changes.

For all of us, Venus in Scorpio offers a good opportunity to cleanse, fast, and purify our bodies.  All processes that release toxins are favored.  This doesn’t have to be a radical process, though some will go in that direction.  Try drinking more water, or putting some lemon in each glass that you drink.

Same thing with our closets — a great time to release the old and make room for the new…

Venus in Scorpio is also a great time to study sexuality and the arts of love.  I like to read historical stuff from various cultures as well as the latest research.  There’s always something new to learn…

OK, looking at specific Venus transits, Venus trines  Neptune and is semi-sextile the Sun on the 22nd.  Looks like fairly pleasant holiday, though on the quiet side, with the Sun square Neptune  we are reminded that so many are suffering at this time.  Might be nice to invite someone who is new to the area or alone to share your meal.  Movies look good for a quiet activity after dinner.

On November 26th – 28th, Venus conjoins Saturn.  I like to allow usually 1 day on either side for orb with Venus transits.  This is a potentially very difficult period, with Full Moon and Mars-Pluto.  I already wrote about that in another post.  What does Venus-Saturn at 4 degrees Scorpio mean in light of all the other transits?  Well, it’s a good time to have serious conversations, or make purchases that are practical, and/or work related — office supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.  It’s probably safer to order online rather than go out into the crowds.  Some people are going to find it difficult to express their feelings with this transit.  Others could feel lonely or misunderstood.   The positive expression would be a serious and satisfying conversation or agreement about partnerships, financial plans, loans and funding, career goals, etc.  as long as these plans are well thought out and not some risky idea with no research to back it up.

Venus sextiles Mars on the 29th — nice for love, for art, for  socializing — small groups rather than big ones.  You have to remember that Venus in Scorpio is more private in nature.  Put Venus in Gemini and they’re bopping all over the neighborhood.  Keep studying the nature of the different signs…

Venus is inconjunct Jupiter on December 1st.  This is a 150 degree aspect that often indicates a lack of clear communication or even someone trying to guilt-trip you into helping them.  People could have a harder time today trying to keep to a tight schedule.  Allow extra time if you can…

Moon conjunct Venus on December 11th — nice for a lunch or party with female friends.  Actually, with Mercury square Neptune the same day, someone may really need to confide in you about some problem in their lives.  Be attentive and discreet. This might be a better day for a lunch with ONE friend.

Venus square Neptune on December 15th — really folks, I keep looking for the goodies and I’m not finding them.  Your individual chart may contain some super Venus transits, though. This square is asking us to stay clear and truthful and not live in illusion. Trust your instincts if you feel uncomfortable around someone or think they might have a hidden agenda, consciously or even  unconsciously.  This square transit is good for showing compassionate love to the ill and afflicted, that could be a pet rather than a person.  The important thing to remember is Venus is at 29 degrees, a critical degree.  If you’ve been putting off calling someone to wish them a happy holiday, or tell them you love and miss them, PLEASE don’t put this off !!!  If someone comes into your mind when you doing to dishes, or folding laundry or whatever, and you think, earlier in December, I really should call or visit or check in with them, then DO IT !!!  I regret to this day several letters I never sent…

Well, just in time, Venus enters Sag and the atmosphere will be a little lighter…I’ll cover that later, Blessings, Jenae

P.S.  Those of you who know me know I’m not a Debbie downer type — if anything I tend to see the star in people and seek the positives.  Frankly, these challenging transits puzzle me, too.  Do I think the world is about to end?  NO !!!  Earth is a very valuable school, we’re in training here.  But I DO think that the lag time between cause and effect is speeding up and we ALL need to be more conscious about what we’re doing and the choices we make.  That phrase, walk with a lighter footprint, keeps coming into my mind.  This holiday season it’s not about what we can buy, it’s about what we can DO — as individuals, as groups, as nations, and as fellow residents on this planet.

WISH UPON A STAR — VENUS IN LIBRA — OCTOBER 28 — NOVEMBER 22, 2012

Back again, dear Friends and Readers,  let’s take a look at Venus in Libra this year.  Those of you born in Libra or with Libra Ascendant may find this transit a welcome bit of sweetness in your lives after 3 grueling years of Saturn transiting through Libra.  The whole time Saturn was in Libra, more of my clients were in cardinal signs than not.  Now that Saturn is in Scorpio, I’m getting more fixed sign clients again.  I expected it.  My cardinal sign clients are stronger, wiser, more resilient as a result of Saturn and now they deserve a treat.  Venus in Libra is also in harmony with the other Air signs, Gemini and Aquarius.  SO Venus in Libra for you three signs will offer lots of possibilities for social life, people who are fun and interesting to talk to, and more affection and beauty in your lives.  If you’re a Libra or have Libra rising, this is a great time to consider a make-over.  You could change your bedroom, add new colors to your wardrobe, change your hair or make-up.  Libras have a very good sense of color and they know how to harmonize a room as well as a  relationship.  Depending on your individual chart, it could be love that comes to you.  At the very least you should be the recipient of kindness, affection, and little gifts.  Receive those compliments graciously, you deserve them 🙂  …

Those of you who are Capricorn, Cancer, or have these signs rising may have to meet partners in the middle when it comes to choices in art, beauty, cultural activities and social life.  Venus in Libra squares are not necessarily negative, but they do suggest that you be aware of different preferences between yourself and partners and/or friends.  These difference become even more prominent if you are Aries or have Aries rising.  The opposition from Venus is a chance to get to know your partner even better but you will have to stay open-minded to do so.  The opposition is a symbol for gaining awareness through relationships.  The worst  way for you cardinal signs to play this Venus transit is to overspend to try and impress someone.  Keep it simple…

Venus in Libra is kind, polite, socially adept, and very willing to smooth the path of near and dear ones.  Venus in Libra is a wonderful time to bring the small gestures of love into your life — candles, pretty flowers on the table, a beautiful card sent to someone who needs a bit of cheering up, buying something artistic to improve your home, etc.  It’s a good month to improve your wardrobe but major shopping is under some stressful transits this time so it would be better to buy one or two classic things  and call it done for now.  On November 3rd, Venus squares Pluto in Capricorn.  Those of you who are taking direct hits with this square could find that work obligations interfere with your love life or social plans.  On a general level, this can be a sign of manipulation.  Could be some kind of subtle pressure at work.  Venus in Libra is very sensitive to what is fair and just.  A person could use this transit to confront injustice that has become intolerable.  In general, all of us should avoid trying to orchestrate life 11-2 through 11-4; much better to go with the flow — if you’re running into opposition, there’s a reason for it.  Step back and re-examine the situation.

November 9th, Venus trines Jupiter.  This is one of the lucky transits in astrology.  11-8 to 11-10 is fine for buying a lotto ticket, socializing, nailing down a meeting  or interview with someone who has been inaccessible up to this point.  Remember that Mercury is retro 11-6 through 11-26 — this period is great for going over the past, looking up old friends, doing additional research but not necessarily moving forward with any NEW projects.  I have met with new people when Mercury is retro but usually the meeting has to be re-scheduled a couple of times.  SO, I think that the luck of Venus-Jupiter this month is more connected with social life and cultural things.  This is NOT a good time to sign major   contracts or important paperwork.  If you must, then please proof-read VERY carefully because there are likely to be errors, misunderstandings, even someone trying to slip something past you.

November 11th, the Moon conjoins Venus — a pleasant day for a party or socializing.  Same thing with the 15th when the Moon sextiles Venus.  Just keep things fairly small and simple in view of the Mercury retro.

The other Sun and/or rising signs that I haven’t mentioned — Pisces and Taurus will take inconjuncts from Venus — you guys really need to doublecheck all times, dates, places for appointments and meetings while Mercury is retro.  Inconjuncts can denote misunderstandings.  Strive for clear communication and use active listening techniques.  Repeat important addresses and phone numbers back to the other person to make sure you have written it down correctly.

Virgo and Scorpio people are taking semi-sextiles from Venus, a 30 degree transit.  Mild but helpful.  Good for inner work, analysis, and meditation.

Sag people are getting a sextile from Venus, pleasant for social life and particularly so while Mercury is briefly in Sag 10-29 to 11-15.  After Mercury goes retro November 6th, you have the chance to reconnect with old friends.  Go ahead and reach out.  If you are trying to locate someone from your past, you have pretty good transits to be successful.  Use Mercury retro in Scorp to play private detective…

I don’t see other Venus transits of note.  Of course, your individual chart could offer more info.  Venus enters Scorpio 11-21 and there will be more important transits during that period.

The thought occurs to me, since I am primarily a USA astrologer, that this monster storm on the East Coast could be rather difficult for so many people and families to sort out the legalities and the insurance paperwork afterwards.  I don’t like the aspects.  I want you who are affected to use Venus, be polite and diplomatic, but BE PERSISTENT (Mercury in Scorp) about your claim and getting the help you need.  Expect delays but  in the long run I think you will also find some hidden benefits in the disaster. The transits are indicating that if you are rebuilding you can end up stronger than before.  This would apply to relationships and businesses as well as homes.  Stay safe, Blessings, Jenae
