Good Afternoon dear Readers and Friends…there was an interesting piece on CNBC this morning about continuing education within the workplace.  Evidently there have been numerous surveys that show the number one desire of employees is to keep growing, learning, and advancing in their current job.  That sounds like a great definition of Jupiter in Capricorn — employer-sponsored education.  What a perfect time to implement new policies to make  that happen !!  Just remember, you heard it here first :)) That’s what I love about astrology; it can show you what’s coming…

If you have Cancer rising, then Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto are all transiting in your 7th house of partnerships.  The 7th can be marriage, business partnerships, mentor/teacher relationships — really any important one on one relationship. The 7th is also the house of open enemies.  I have watched people’s charts for over 50 years and I have seen many, many people either marry or divorce when either Jupiter or Saturn transit into their 7th house.  Now if you have been feeling that you are carrying more responsibility in a relationship than feels fair, since Saturn and Pluto are already in your 7th, it is entirely possible that Jupiter will bring help and improve your situation. If you are a conservator or a POA for a senior in your life then you ARE carrying more responsibility.  There are 2 legal houses — Libra and Sag, 7th and 9th — and Jupiter here could indicate the signing of legal papers or even a court ruling that eases the situation. If you are a teacher then Jupiter could be indicating a raise or promotion for the work you do. If you are in a business partnership, there could be ill health or some other reason why one partner wants to dissolve the company.  Or maybe it’s just a lack of agreement on how to move forward.  If it’s business this could be a tricky year, 2020, due to all 3 inner planets in retrograde at different times.  Keep an eye on the books and seek legal advice if necessary. If you are in a great partnership, don’t get all paranoid over what I have just written — everything may be fine, just be watchful, vigilant if necessary, and avoid big risks this year. After all, if you have worked hard and been sincere, Jupiter could help you land a big contract!! The signing of important papers in 2020 — avoid 2/16 to 3/10, and 5/13 to 7/12, and 9/9 to 11/13/2020.

If you have Leo rising, then the Capricorn planets are in your 6th house of health, work, and service.  I think you need to put your health front and center and make it your top priority. Finding a better work/life balance could be important.  Be proactive and take good care of your bones, joints, and teeth.  Jupiter here could help you receive excellent care. Let’s say your health is fine. Then maybe the boss from hell is on your case and no matter how hard you work there is not enough appreciation.  Or the policies are annoying. I think Jupiter here could relieve you of that situation and present you with a better job. Of course in Cap it may not fall in your lap, but go looking and you should find a much happier position.  A reminder, a difficult boss is a crash course in leadership.  Just remember how upsetting it was/is and vow to be the opposite when and if you get to be the boss. Study leadership skills — books, classes, workshops, etc.  Capricorn in general represents government, large corporations, and Jupiter could amend that to include libraries, museums, churches, and schools.  Someone told me about a job they saw — booking travel and accommodations for CEO’s. That would fit, too.

If you have Virgo rising, then you get trines from the Cap transits as well as from Uranus in Taurus.  This is your chance to shine, the time when years of hard work and honing your skills should finally pay off.  The 5th house is kids, but also creativity and entertainment. Don’t be shy about working with the public, or marketing your creativity.  If you have been worried about your kids, then Jupiter should bring them some honors or awards or a better job, something that improves their lives. And thus, yours improves, too :)) Just remind them to stay sensible and focused.  A line from a movie that I have been quoting to myself almost daily — “A Mother is only as happy as her saddest child.”  No doubt about it, Saturn in the 5th is tough, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you don’t have kids in your life, then your “new baby” is some kind of creative project or a new passion that you pursue tirelessly and with good results. Consider new mediums, new instruments, teaching others what you are expert at doing.

If you have Libra rising, then the Capricorn transits are presenting you with a packed 4th house — home and family.  Most likely seniors, but your physical home could need extra attention, too.  You could be carrying a lot of responsibility for relatives, or people older than you.  I know a nurse with these transits and she visits seniors in their homes. Pay attention if your older relatives have had problems with their bones, joints, and teeth and take good care of yours in case there’s a hereditary issue. Usually when Saturn is transiting the 4th, the person is lonely, or the house is too small or too dark or they don’t like who they live with. The books  don’t tell you that it is one of the best transits for setting up a home office and for working from home. Jupiter in Cap would mean remote work via phone or computer, a nice side gig is possible. So is going back to school online. If you don’t have enough light and putting in a new window won’t work, then get some full spectrum light bulbs and put them in strategic places in your home.  Small mirrors can help bounce more light around, too.  Pay attention to the family history and geneology. You might want to record the elders telling their stories and their memories of their elders.  Saturn-Pluto — family secrets coming to light?

If you have Scorpio rising then Saturn/Pluto/Jupiter are transiting your 3rd house of communication, siblings, the neighborhood, and early education, plus technical studies. When I’m working with a private client and I see Pluto transiting the 3rd and ESPECIALLY if Pluto is making any harsh aspects to their natal planets, I warn them to stay alert to their inner self — someone with a hidden agenda can say all the right words but if we find ourselves feeling uncomfortable around them, it means they may not be truthful.  In those situations we have to trust our intuition. With Saturn, it’s a little different — we have to work on our own inner dialogue — our habitual patterns of self talk and neutralize any negative thinking. This is hard work but must be done. I thought I was such a positive person until Saturn went through my 3rd. All my fears and negatives came to the surface and it got so ridiculously extreme that I set about systematically thinking the opposite each time I caught myself.  Finally, new habits replaced the old ones. TG!! Yeah, on the outer level there can be troubles with siblings or neighbors or the school or the neighborhood, but it’s basic communication and good listening skills that will get you through all that.  It’s the Gemini house after all…Jupiter here will be great for workshops and learning specific skills of all kinds. And it will make it a lot easier to count your blessings each night and remain positive. It’s a great year for writing, too.  The year Jupiter went through my 3rd I think I read about 75 elementary teachers, read their palms, (Gemini arms and hands :)). One teacher would tell another, etc.  It’s a great year if you want to start a tutoring business.  I know someone with these 3rd house transits and they are spending a lot of extra time working with their children on reading and homework.

If you have Sagittarius rising, the Capricorn is your 2nd house of personal money, possessions, talents, hobbies and core values. People with a lot of NATAL planets in their 2nd often moonlight and turn a hobby into a 2nd career.  Sure, money may be tight with Saturn transiting your 2nd but it’s a great transit to set up a 2nd business. Follow the rules re: licensing, certification, etc. Keep clear and accurate financial records. Take classes that will net you a promotion if you’re not ready to leave your 9-5 job. Jupiter should bring you more resources to work with, or a raise at your regular job. Do I think you should splurge and spend your raise on an exotic vacation? Definitely not — Capricorn is a serious sign and ambitious. Cap is about bringing big goals into physical manifestation. Put any new money to work to achieve your goals.  You won’t regret it. Saturn  rules Capricorn — it means delaying immediate gratification for long-term rewards. That could mean buying land.  Or setting up a retirement account. If you are artistic, you might consider upcycling used furniture, or learning upholstery, working with earth materials — wood, stone, brick, metal, etc. — making old things new and beautiful again.

Well, folks, that’s it for now…one way or another, it will be a year to remember…Good Luck !!! Jenae

Back again, dear Friends and Readers…Capricorn is a serious sign. People with NATAL Saturn in their 10th house of career, the Capricorn house, usually have to work from the bottom up to attain any success.  There are no shortcuts — long hours, hard work, and attention to all the details — this is their foundation. People with NATAL Saturn must have traditional education —  college degree, maybe more than one — to attain success in their career. People with NATAL Saturn in their 1st house of presenting themselves to the outside world are usually shy and NOT confident until they work hard on developing themselves and some skills to share with the world. The point is Saturn is a planet of pressure.  Add Pluto conjunct Saturn in this year’s TRANSITS and you have a LOT of pressure. Resistance is futile, so accept the restrictions and pressure and prepare to buckle  down and get to work. Figure out by house what is your weak point and sincerely do all that you  can to strengthen yourself.  I know a guy who is really smart but he is not patient with others. It will be his downfall at work unless he can get a handle on his behavior with co-workers. I know a woman who helps many children but she doesn’t let herself go out to play very much. You guessed it; she has Saturn in her 5th. Looking for a positive example, I know a woman who feels money is somewhat tiresome, but she understands that with Saturn moving into her 8th house, she had better pay attention. And she is doing just that — educating herself about investments and money management in general. It’s those kinds of behaviors that will allow Jupiter in Capricorn to bring positive energy into our lives this year.  Jupiter is considered the lucky planet but in Capricorn it’s not going to fall into our laps this year. EFFORT, consistent effort, is required and THEN you get the goodies :))  All you need to do to understand this  transit is remember that Saturn brings us what we have already earned.  Jupiter might bring it to us a little sooner, or in multiple small doses, but the nature of Capricorn — slow and steady — will prevail…

If you have Capricorn rising, use Jupiter to keep your attitude positive as you slog through a long-term and somewhat restrictive situation.  Develop your leadership skills. Read and study about how a good leader empowers and inspires others to do their best. Since the 1st house is also a symbol of our body as well as personality, do all you can to strengthen and heal your bones, joints, and teeth.  Keep your eyes on the long-term goals that you have set for yourself. You may need more rest this year, as Saturn in your 1st can dampen down your vitality. Make 2020 the year of the POWER NAP :))

If you have Aquarius rising, then Jupiter will be in your 12th house.  This position is called the help at the last minute energy — heavenly help will pull you through when it seems that all is lost. VERY important to add prayer and meditation to your daily life and to read and study the stories of other people who have received this kind of help. Guideposts Magazine would be a good example.  People with Saturn in their 12th often work alone — artists, writers, etc. THREE planets in your 12th is a big deal.  Your life may require you to face your worst fears. I know a guy who has been diagnosed with a progressive illness.  He was afraid of doctors but now has to deal with them.  He is actually receiving good medical care, which he admits. He is working hard to maintain a positive attitude, focusing on what he CAN do.  The 12th is a tricky house; to me it is the hardest house to understand because it has to do  with the contract we agree to before we come to earth.  It can be a house of grief and loss and sorrow, but also one of love and peace and serenity.

If you have Pisces rising, then all the Cap transits will be in your 11th house of friends and groups. Think carefully about making commitments to  groups this year. If it doesn’t feel right, then honor your intuition. If you find a group that you DO like and feel good about, then you will probably have increased responsibility in this group.  It could be a club, a charity, a fraternal organization, a union, or even just a group of friends that gets together on a regular basis.  Usually the activity is not purely social, the 11th is the barn-building/quilting bee energy — there is a purpose beyond the moment.  If Neptune in Pisces is in your 1st house, then consider joining with others to help the animals or the environment.  Cleaning up the beach or helping pet adoption groups would be examples, or planting trees — Uranus in Taurus is making great transits for helping nature, too.

If you have Aries rising, then the 3 Cap planets are potentially challenging you from the 10th house of career, reputation, and authority. Not the easiest time to deal with the government officials, but the transits COULD be encouraging you to be your own authority and not value others peoples’ opinions more than your own.  Sometimes Saturn transiting through your 10th will bestow a difficult boss on you, as a shortcut lesson with a lot of pressure on how to be a good boss yourself :)) NOT easy but you will see the value once the squares have passed… I would suspect that you will need to be more precise with details at work and less argumentative.  Practice  starting your sentences with the word “yes” instead of the word “no” and see if other people become more cooperative.  The more professional you behave, the better.  You could get a big promotion that throws you off balance.  Workshops, coaching, extra training that is related to your career can really help you this year!!

If you have Taurus rising, then all the Cap transits are in your 9th.  What a treat !!  Could be work-related travel, an overseas move, back to school, an increase in your income coming to you from a distance — all these are possibilities designed to help you grow and not get stuck in a rut.  You know you like routine, but Uranus is shaking your life up so you can grow and thrive for years to come.  Remote work from home could be another possibility. If you need a new job, consider something related to legal work or higher ed as possibilities. If you are already happy with your career, expect rewards, but the type that will push you to grow.  You might need to learn a new language.  The gifts you give to others in 2020 should have a touch of good luck attached to them…you want to share prosperity — like a jade plant, or a FengShui frog, or even a small tree to plant as a gift.

If you have Gemini rising, then Capricorn would be your 8th house of shared money matters — things like taxes, insurance, inheritance, investments, mutual funds, etc. Jupiter here can make it easy to get credit, so don’t overextend yourself because Saturn-Pluto says you will have to pay the piper.  However, if you need a long-term loan, like a refi on a mortgage to get a lower rate, then do so, but don’t do it just to get equity out. PLEASE do yourself a favor and ask questions about all things financial and write down the answers in a notebook that is dedicated to 8th house issues.  Live within your budget and obey all financial rules concerning taxes, retirement funds, etc. Get to know and really understand all insurance policies that you have. Ask questions!!  Look for mistakes or misunderstandings !! Doublecheck everything  very carefully and act like Mercury is retrograde all year — that should keep you out of trouble.  If it was me and I was in any kind of financial partnership, then I would be very cautious and keep an eye on the books. This is not a favorable year to loan money or property to someone because it could be a long time or never until you get it back.  That being said, the positives are all in the area of educating yourself about these areas…remember the old phrase…”Give a man a fish and you’ve fed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you’ve fed him for a lifetime.”  Teach yourself how to be the fisherman!!

Well, time for lunch, my friends…more manana…Best wishes, Jenae

Hello dear Friends and Readers, Most of you who follow me know that for the last few years I  post when a major planet changes signs, and I usually go through all the houses. This time I want to start with the nature of Jupiter in Capricorn to give you some general but pertinent information to help you formulate plans for your life. Before I begin, thank you for all the kind words and appreciation I have received over the last 8 years. They mean a lot to me…

Since Jupiter rules philosophy, let me share some of mine :))  To me, astrology is useful when it is practical. This does not negate the more etheric types of astrology that deal with a lot of symbolism and psychology. There is great benefit in using astrology as a tool for inner exploration…the more you meditate and study your chart, the more you will get out of it.  However, I feel that the purpose of my blog is to show you how to use astrology as a timing tool for reaching the goals in your life that help you be happier, to warn you when to lay low and be careful, to encourage you to grow and try new things to build your confidence in yourself, and when to expect the rewards, too. I have an exact trine and a mutual reception between Saturn in Virgo and Mercury in Capricorn. So I am known as a practical astrologer.

Some astrologers will note that Jupiter in Capricorn is in an uncomfortable place, but it is way different than when Saturn was in Sagittarius.  In 2020 Grand Earth Trines are accented.  By now you no doubt have read about the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn that is exact on 1-12-20 at 22 degrees Cap. (You can read my earlier post, too) The negative potential is vast and allowing for orb it is exact December, January, and February.  I already predicted the weather. It’s tough already and is going to get worse. The noise out of DC sets the country on edge and underlines the level of stress that most people are already trying to cope with on a daily basis. We’re going to have climate refugees and there will be a term called plastic dementia in a few years to explain why so many of the marine creatures are attacking humans, etc.  The building codes for foundations will be strengthened (Cap) because it will become fashionable to have rooftop gardens and greenhouses.  Yes, we know about the negatives but what I am finding as I work with individual charts is the country may be falling apart but individuals can shine and create whole new opportunities and businesses for themselves. So, in that spirit, let’s look at Jupiter in Cap as a beneficial influence to somewhat moderate the heaviness of Saturn-Pluto.

Jupiter expands whatever it touches, whether it’s a house or an actual birth planet. Jupiter rules religion, philosophy, higher education, foreign contacts and travel, libraries, books, licensing and ceremonies, humor, tolerance, and  generosity.

Jupiter is only negative through too much of a good thing. Alcohol, workaholic, shopaholic, binging of all kinds. I think Jupiter is more toned down in Capricorn, LESS inclined to go overboard, though having the right work/life balance will be important in 2020.

So…want a better career? Consider going back to school and be sure to look into employer-sponsored education.  Sometimes your job will pay some of the costs.  Education of all kinds is highly favored by this transit as long as there is a tangible result that improves your career, reputation, and public life — because that is what Capricorn rules. It also rules bones, joints, and teeth. ALL of us need to take very good care of these parts of our bodies. Don’t go to excess, start with  gentle stretching and don’t forget to warm up and cool down each time. Invest in dental insurance, or some of the electric toothbrushes, and a good quality mouthwash.  The Edgar Cayce foundation, the A R E in Virginia Beach, used to sell a mouthwash years ago, a good one that came from his readings.

Capricorn is very much about bringing goals into physical manifestion. When you build a house, you start with the foundation.  So 2020 is a great year to embark on a new project, to strengthen your foundation, and to take your responsibilities very seriously.  For some who are at home with children, this may mean taking your authority seriously. For some, it may mean their authority at work.  More on Jupiter in Capricorn tomorrow or the next day…Ciao for now…Jenae
