dgchart  Hello Dear Friends and Readers, Here is a real life chart from a woman who sent in her birth data. Jupiter will transit her 4th house of home and family until October 1, 2015, at which time it moves into her 5th house of creativity, fun, kids, etc. There is a very strong influence on health and wellness from now till mid-September as transiting Jupiter opposes Chiron and Mercury (Mercury rules Virgo) and then conjoins her North Node and Pluto in her 4th.  This is certainly the time to read and study about wellness and to improve her health. Not only her health but also that of others.  Jupiter in the 4th often expands the family.  One possibility would be family coming to visit her, or even moving into her home.  The underlying reason may have something to do with health — like taking care of someone short-term who has just had surgery. It’s a great transit to improve the functionality of her home, repairs, troubleshooting, etc. Repairs are best done between September 6 – 16th.  Virgo also rules small pets, so one more possibility would be vet care for a pet, or getting a new pet and taking it to the vet just for a check up.  From October 2015 to September 10, 2016, Jupiter in her 5th puts the emphasis on kids, letting the child in herself come out to play, creativity of all kinds including all the fabric arts, and in general allowing herself to try new activities. She is Pisces, so dancing, photography, fishing, decorating shoes — al these are astrologically appropriate :))

Looking at her whole chart, it’s pretty imperative spiritually that she does something to alleviate suffering in society.  Three 29* placements in a chart is unusual.  She might be a social worker, a chiropractor, or in the medical field. Of course, she could be a dance teacher, too :))  Dancing is very therapeutic and brings joy to alleviate suffering.  Maybe she’ll write in again and let us know :))  Here’s a couple of key transits that only come around once every 12 years:  Jupiter trine her Moon and sextile her Part of Fortune — fwd 2nd 1/2 November, retro end Feb.to early March, and fwd again middle 1/3 July 2016.  Looks like she gets 3 tries to assimilate some spiritual growth and also to finish her creative projects :))  Jupiter will oppose her Sun the 1st 1/3 of September 2016. Her personal time vs. time with friends and groups?  Travel with a group?  Escorting a grown kid to college?  Time management will be important all year… Best wishes, Jenae

OTTERSPACE ASTROLOGY —WISH UPON A STAR — JUPITER IN VIRGO — 8-11-2015 to 9-9-2016

Dear Friends and Readers. Jupiter transits through each sign in roughly one year, so Jupiter entering Virgo last occurred 12 years ago. There’s a lot of talented astrologers posting about Jupiter in Virgo. Some posts are quite technical. My preference is not to write for other astrologers but to write for everyday people who have some background and familiarity with astrology and would like to know more. I write these posts with teaching in mind. Planting seeds…

In 45 years I have never lost my passion for understanding people through astrology. I like helping people by bringing astrology down to earth and focusing on solutions to problems they may face, as well as alerting them to opportunities. Gee, folks, have you guessed? Yes, I have Virgo 1st house :)) (late Leo rising). Lately, I find myself with a keen desire for organizing shelves and drawers :))  Bringing order to chaos might be one theme in the coming year, but on all levels — physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. We’ll explore that shortly.

I noticed that some astrologers are charging money for their Jupiter in Virgo posts. I may do that next year when Jupiter enters my 2nd house. It will probably be $12 because I like the number 12 — 12 signs, 12 houses, etc. But this year I still want to shake things up a bit and not use the old format of going through each rising sign. One, I don’t have time. I’m very busy. Two, I want fresh growth, something new…

So here is my idea. I want a few people to write to me on the private reading page and give me complete birth data. Then we’ll put up the chart for all to see ( initials rather than names) and I will point out where the Jupiter opportunities are occurring in that chart. If I get swamped with requests, I may not choose your chart, but I can do some and we will all learn from them together. Learning should be fun !! I want to bring Jupiter in Virgo out of theory and into real life…

OK, if you know where the Virgo energy is in your chart, that’s where Jupiter will expand your opportunities. The only caveat is Jupiter is so expansionary that sometimes a bit of moderation is required to manifest the best luck and growth. In addition, this year is a little tricky for Mutable signs since Saturn will square Virgo from Sag, and Neptune in Pisces will oppose Virgo. This forms what is called a T-square and impels a lot of energy out the empty spot — Gemini. In fact, late May and June 2016 when the Sun, Mercury, and Venus transit through Gemini and create kind of a mutable grand cross. Time management and clear and careful communication will be critical. Mars retrogrades in Sag at 8 degrees and goes back to 23 degrees Scorpio 4-17-16 to 6-29-2016. Same time frame. Mercury is retro 4-28 to 5-22-2016 but in Taurus. Still, next spring is a time to be cautious regarding travel, communication, and important documents and/or contracts. Probably a good time to stay home and organize your filing cabinet as well as making copies of important papers !!!

Virgo is one sign associated with health, nutrition, cleanliness, small pets, gardening (Virgo = the harvest), accounting and bookkeeping, troubleshooting problems and finding brilliant solutions. Jupiter brings you opportunities in these areas. Check which house is Virgo in your chart for further clues and fine-tuning…

Virgo at its best means finding joy in small domestic tasks and chores, not making any difference between work and fun, finding joy through being of service to others, letting your work or hobbies be a labor of love, mastering the details and bringing all the small parts into a beautiful cohesive whole. Like assembling a jigsaw puzzle. I think Jupiter here will help us keep the big picture in mind, even while sorting through a bunch of details. IMO, if we can find the joy in doing the dishes, the floor, the laundry, cleaning the bathroom, etc. as a daily process without lust of result, if we make no difference between pulling weeds and harvesting our garden, if we find joy INSIDE ourselves no matter what we are doing — that is a successful life in the spiritual sense. All other earthly rewards follow and will manifest in your life as a result of that inner peace and happiness. On a more mundane level, this passion for excellence and order and organization may well manifest as a raise, a promotion, a new job, etc. There may also be opportunities for travel and/or further education at work that will be paid for by your employer.

I have noticed that men with either Mercury and Venus in Virgo or Venus and Mars in Virgo are excellent with building and woodworking. Must be that precision applied to the details :))…they do beautiful work.

Jupiter in Virgo offers us a chance to improve health and wellness through incorporating new information, possibly new research coming out about the food we eat. Food is the best first line of defense against illness. And there is more new research already about the benefits of exercise and movement vs. being sedentary.

Virgos are famous for spotting the flaws, and Jupiter here could exaggerate that tendency. Sometimes Virgos are so hard on themselves they get headaches. Jupiter could also be helpful to be more positive and optimistic about who you are, helping your inner thought patterns lighten up, help you be more TOLERANT of yourself and others. I think we have a choice here. New information and philosophies about our thinking and analyzing processes can help reprogram how we view ourselves. Besides, isn’t it more fun to be a Santa Claus instead of a sourpuss?

Most Virgos are wonderful about organizing stuff. Whether its on the mental or physical level, this is a great year to organize your home, your work environment, your hobbies and tools, your health — both mental and physical, and your outlook on life in general. One of my daughters found a great website a few years ago — www.flylady.com   It’s about making housework easier, being organized, and they sell great tools for household chores.

Time management will be more important for all of us this year, no matter where your Virgo energy is in your chart, and this is due to so many mutable sign transits. Be on time or even a bit early. Avoid gossip, rumor and innuendo. Let people tell their own news. Strive for the ideal but keep in mind that perfection does not exist on the material plane, so don’t kick yourself for honest mistakes. Strive for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism rather than harsh words that immediately put other people on the defensive. And you guys know me by now — don’t forget to grow a garden !!! Even if it’s just a few herb plants. That makes you a producer and not just a consumer. Virgos get a great sense of satisfaction from being productive :))… Blessings, Jenae

WISH UPON A STAR — VENUS RETROGRADE 7-25-2-15 @ 0*VIRGO TO 9-6-2015 @ 14* LEO

Hello dear Friends and Readers, Let’s get the negative potentials of this transit out of the way first, then we can concentrate on the positive.

First of all, Venus retrograde is NOT the time for cosmetic surgery or any radical change in your appearance. Since the retrograde is in Leo, the focus might be on your hair (the Lion’s mane :)) and even though you may be dissatisfied it is best to avoid big color and style changes at this time because it would be more likely that you would change your mind again after Venus goes forward.

Another standard meaning would be looking at Venus as shopping. (Venus is the ruler of Taurus.) I already shared my wallpaper story in an earlier post. Best to avoid any major purchases at this time. There’s too strong a possiblity that the item is not really what you want, or that it arrives damaged, or there can be problems with credit cards, etc.

Venus is the planet that symbolizes love and relationships. It also rules Libra, the sign of marriage and partnerships. Many people will experience this retrograde as “Who is that person I thought I knew so well? “ Previously hidden facets can come to the surface. Whether this is delightfully stimulating or emotionally devastating would depend on your individual chart. Be more cautious if transiting Venus in Leo is squaring, opposing, or even making inconjuncts (150*aspects) to the planets in your natal chart.

OK, let’s transition to the more positive experiences of Venus retrograde. Even though this transit is not considered favorable for meeting new people, it is great for looking up old friends and since it’s in Leo this time, even past romances can resume with new life and spark. I have also witnessed that a few people will actually meet someone new that is their true life partner. Usually there are positive Neptune contacts across the chart. On a Venus retrograde, it IS possible that two people meet and know instantly on a gut level that they have a soul contract together. I suppose in this particular case, they are not so much meeting someone new, but someone they recognize from a past life… These experiences are rare but possible.

So, go to that class reunion, reunite with childhood friends, call old neighbors — reach out to whomever you feel like connecting with from the past. This can be very satisfying. For the first time in the history of the planet, it is easier to find missing people and loved ones through social media.

Looking at Venus as art and beauty, what a wonderful transit to pull out that art project that you never finished! It’s a great time to refurbish and re-purpose possessions, and especially to bring beauty into our environment. Great for mending, patching, painting, etc. Not so much for a big remodel, unless you started it earlier, but great for smaller home and garden projects. If you are artistic, this would be a good time to investigate historical art and creative techniques in any medium. For example, willow baskets, cane furniture, Balinese silver smithing, woodworking without nails, weaving, etc. Many, many possibilities… I am researching perennial phlox to add to my garden…

I have had the same conversation with 4 different people over the last few days and it woke me up to write about this retrograde in Leo, the sign of children, to write about our relationships with our children. Many of us may be reviewing the past with our kids, how we parent, why we do what we do, and did it bring the desired result? This kind of inner review can be very valuable and may indeed help us to steer a new direction in the future. Evidently, there’s a lot to sort out in this department. Each person I spoke with told me they were dissatisfied with their relationship with their children. Some were little kids and some were adult kids. In each case the person was realizing they could change their own behavior but not necessarily anyone else’s behavior. Re-examining the past can be very valuable and a Venus retrograde is the perfect time to do it :))

I may revisit this blog to write more after it has unfolded. One last point. If some of you think you are NOT creative, I beg to differ…you just haven’t found your right medium yet. Every person has dormant talents just waiting to blossom and when I mentioned hidden facets in partners, it also applies to ourselves. So, go ahead over the next 6 weeks and try new things. Just don’t invest big bucks to pursue a new hobby until after Venus is forward. There’s a nice window for purchases and bringing larger projects to completion from September 6 – 16th. On 9-17-15, Mercury goes retrograde…

Best Wishes, Jenae
