Hello Dear Friends and Readers, The last time Saturn was in Sag, online classes and satellite campuses were considered very new and progressive.  Today, many people can finish degrees or further their education online.  The internet has been a blessing is the sense that education is available to all, or to anyone with an internet connection.  There’s KHAN University with tutorials, there are satellites broadcasting lessons to remote schools in Austrailia, and probably in Africa, too, though I don’t know for sure.  People in the USA living way out in the rural areas can study              nursing and then do their clinicals  later.  What isn’t working is the huge cost of higher education.  I think Saturn will bring this issue into clear focus.  The ills and injustices in our country cannot be healed without education.  There are high school students that may graduate but are not ready intellectually for college. Just as there are different kinds of intelligence, some people learn by hearing, some by seeing, and some by doing.  Improved technology is and will continue to help people learn new things…

Another issue with education is there isn’t enough standardization for applying credits and classes when changing schools.  Between that and the student loan problem, I think we will see the pressure increase and graduates decrease until something positive is implemented.  We are already seeing the beginning of this in elementary and high schools — charter schools, contract schools, pay based on merit and students’ achievement, advanced placement — lots of innovative things are starting to happen.

I think education is going to be a very big issue during Saturn in Sag.  The young people need help.  Jupiter is in Leo this year, the sign that rules children.  I have been encouraging my private clients with kids to show respect and enthusiasm for learning, to make it a family affair…one child at a time.  What amazes me is the number of adults I have talked with lately that are just a few credits away from a degree, or completing a program.  These are the ones who have decided to return to school after a 20 + year absence.  They now have a terrific opportunity to advance themselves AND to also influence  the whole family for years to come.  When I was in social services we kept in  mind the old phrase — “Give a man a fish and you’ve fed him for a day.  Teach him how to fish and you’ve fed him for a lifetime.”  This applies to more than anti-poverty food and nutrition programs — the key is the education.

Sag rules foreign languages.  The kids who become bi-lingual or multi-lingual are going to have a huge advantage in the years to come. If you are parents with young children, start this learning process now while Saturn is in Sag…

Let’s look at Church.  Sag rules both Italy and France.  Did you know that at one time there were two Popes?  One in Italy and one in France — hundreds of years ago…Rome and Avignon…So let’s look at the Catholic Church in particular since the astrology fits.  There are huge problems coming to the surface.  We have an innovative Pope and an antiquated, rigid church structure and theology that is excluding large segments of the population.  If compromise is possible, can it be achieved without alienating the extremists on either end of the scale?  It will be interesting to see if the Church can  re-invent itself while still remaining true to the core philosophy.  I see these debates going on in other churches, and other religions, too.  Is tolerance acceptable or a betrayal?  Is extremism a negative or just people remaining true to their beliefs?  You see this in government, too.  Ultimately, I think each person must decide for themselves how to live with integrity and still get along with others.  The news is absolutely  full of cruelty, persecution, greed and corruption — betrayals of all kinds.  Obviously new souls who haven’t learned the rules yet.  What goes around comes around.  Think carefully before you hurt your fellow man…

Years ago I read something in an Edgar Cayce book about a question of whether a man in ancient Persia created negative karma because his job was to put peoples’ eyes out as punishment.  Edgar Cayce  was a  famous psychic and trance medium who died in the 1940’s.  His answer to the question was if the man was only doing his job, had to obey orders and had no choice, there was no negative karma BUT if he derived pleasure from punishing, then indeed there WAS negative karma. In another book, he said that the people in the Romans who laughed at the persecuted victims in the Coliseum games generated extremely bad karma for themselves.

Sag also rules licenses and certifications as well as ceremonies.  Going back to the education theme, the next 3 years will be very good for people to upgrade their job skills if additional certificates are required.  A quick example.  People with certain majors, like English or Teaching or Communications, can get an ESL endorsement fairly easily.  Teaching English as a 2nd language opens up a lot of opportunities.  Plus it fits with the current transits, too.  Think about what kinds of upgrades will help YOU the most.

I always know when Saturn changes signs because my clients change.  For the last 3 years, I’ve had a lot of people with fixed signs, and a lot of Scorpios in particular.  Saturn can bring up problems that don’t fix easily or quickly.  Now the mutable signs are going to start feeling that pressure and already I have talked with 5 Sag clients.  The mutable signs are Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sag.  In Part 3 of Saturn in Sag, we’ll start going through the signs as to what kinds of experiences are possible.

Meanwhile, have a safe and Happy New Year.  Back soon, Jenae

WISH UPON A STAR — JUPITER IN LEO — JULY 16, 2014 — AUGUST 11, 2015

Hello to all,  dear Readers and Friends.  Let’s begin with a brief overview of the nature of Leo.  Leo rules the heart and the circulatory system.  Lately, it seems so important to be whole- hearted.  When I have plans or decisions to make, if I feel ambivalent, I usually pass.  Children are ruled by Leo — their enthusiasm and creativity are qualities to cherish and nurture within ourselves as well.  Theater arts, opera, etc.  come under Leo since they involve passion and drama.  Leos make great entertainers; they would rather be the host than the guest.  They know how to put on the glam, too.  They love music and dancing.

Leo usually conduct their lives with dignity and good manners.  They have a capacity for leadership, though they need to lead by action rather than words.  The Star Trek captains remind me of Leos.  Super heroes, standing for truth and justice.  Children need heroes to admire… we all do…Leos often fulfill that need.

Leo is the sign that symbolizes the ego as individuation, or the illusion of separateness.  The opposite sign, Aquarius, stands for the collective — friends, groups, networks.  Naturally, you can find a stressed out and insecure Leo and they will be piggy, even stingy with their time, their energy, their money, etc.  The positive Leo is generous, loyal, social, and playfully young at heart, even when they age.  Positive Leos often have careers that benefit children.

OK, Jenae,  get on with it, we really want to know what Jupiter in Leo will mean in OUR lives !!  OK, I hear you…have to define Jupiter first.  Patience…

Jupiter expands, Saturn contracts.  Jupiter expands whatever it touches, whether by natal aspect or through transits.  You can play around with solar, but for best results you need to know your time of birth which will give you the exact degree of your Ascendant.  Jupiter is only negative through excess, so a certain moderation will be needed to bring out the best of this transit.  Jupiter is just now wrapping up a year’s  transit of Cancer —  lots of families expanding  (new babies) and moving to other homes.  Jupiter rules Sag and so it also symbolizes higher education, contact with foreign people, long-distance travel  and communication, publishing, religion, philosophy, the evolution of humanity, ceremonies and the justice system ( justice also comes under Libra).

With Jupiter in Leo, which hasn’t happened for 12 years, there will be more emphasis on children and creativity.  Already, you can see this in the news in the USA — many thousands of immigrant children needing help and education.  More to come…

You can look back at 2003 for a clue but do remember that the other planets were in different signs last time around.  Your luck and chance for expansion is determined by the house position of this Jupiter transit, and also by Jupiter’s aspects to the other planets, BOTH natal and transiting.  Most of all, don’t wait for the luck to fall into your lap — go out and do your absolute best to bring it to you, through willingness to try something new, listening to the  wisdom and guidance in your heart, plus dedication, and enthusiasm.  You Fire signs are really going to be in the flow in the Spring of 2015 as Jupiter and Uranus make trines and even Saturn is briefly in Sag.  Other than that, Jupiter in Leo squares Saturn in

late Scorpio a couple of times.  Economic difficulties can lead to innovative solutions, new products, etc.  Pressure is on the fixed signs during this transit.  They will be quite busy, needing  to plan for fun and leisure rather than play spontaneously.  Looking at the world in general at this time, fanaticism of all kinds is running rampant.  War ruins economies and productivity.   Weather emergencies continue with Uranus and Pluto still in square and this is also a challenge to prosperity.

ARIES RISING — Jupiter in your 5th means there will be lots of opportunities to socialize, particularly with outdoor activities.  Sports, sure, but also things like hiking, gardening, swimming, etc.  You can meet people you really like a lot, romance is a possibility, too.  You will enjoy the chances to try new things and develop new skills. Art involving fire is a possibility — welding, pottery, wood-burning designs, for example.  Costumes appeal, so perhaps you will be in some kind of play, pageant,  parade, etc.  Don’t forget the sunscreen J…

I have noticed with my private clients that there seems to be more emphasis on long-range planning for childrens’ education.  You can set up funds like 529’s for education next spring before the tax deadline.  You may want to budget for extra-curricular activities this next school year.  Some parents may even decide that they want to join in the fun in the classroom; volunteering could be very enjoyable this year.

TAURUS RISING — Jupiter in your 4th expands your home and family.  This could be anything from remodeling, building outdoor facilities, etc. to celebrating happy news within the family.  Weddings, engagements, new babies, family reunions, and graduations are all strong possibilities.  Expect more people to come visit you in your home.  Probably a good idea to start a party fund because feeding all these people could get expensive, and remember that Saturn squares and also opposes your Ascendant, most likely from your 7th.  This means you and your partner need to be in agreement on these various expansionary plans.  There’s an old saying…figure things will take twice as long and cost twice as much, so be conservative.  Do not initiate any building projects when Mercury is retro, and if the retrograde occurs in the middle of the project, then watch like a hawk and double-check everything.

Landscaping, sculpture, building with earth materials — rock, brick, wood, etc.  can be very enjoyable this year.  Art and beauty feed your soul.  Try taking the kids to an art museum, too.  Expose young children to arts and crafts to let them try their artistic wings…

The one thing that can hurt you this year is having to be right all the time.  No one is, and life is much sweeter when you forge agreements by giving credit where it is due.  Do you best to be flexible rather than stubborn.  What’s good for the body is also good for the mind J…

GEMINI RISING — Jupiter transits your 3rd house of communication, practical education, and regional and local travel.  You will most likely be very mentally and physically active this year.  The only things that could hurt you is overbooking, driving too fast because you tried to cram too much in, or getting so many projects going that you feel scattered instead of stimulated.  You can easily multi-task and actually prefer two or three projects at a time.  I think it’s important to remember that Saturn enters Sag later this year and the polarity between Gemini and Sag means (among other things) that your education needs to be put to practical use.  You can attend workshops and/or classes but for best results they should fit in with your overall strategy.  It’s a good year for publishing if you are a writer. For artistic expression try theater arts, or even something like origami or calligraphy.

There’s such a social whirl for you this year … you could meet wonderful people while doing things you love anyway — travel, book clubs, writers’ groups, neighborhood potlucks, fun with siblings and especially with nieces and nephews.  Playing cards comes under the 3rd house, and games that stimulate the mind. The same focus on fun and education applies to your own kids, too.  A great year for summer camps that combine education and fun.  The same principle applies to travel — combine fun and education for best results.  There’s so much going on that you might need to use a daily planner J.

CANCER RISING — Jupiter transits your 2nd house.  This is not just a money house; the 2nd is also talents and hobbies as well as resources under your personal control.  It’s a great year to invest in yourself.  This house rules moonlighting and turning a hobby into a career.  Maybe you need classes or a certification to add to your income.  Jupiter here should expand your money and resources.  You could also be spending on behalf of young people and their education.  A great year to start an education  fund for any young children in your family.

Dancing and music could easily be the art forms you prefer this year.  If you study what you love best, the information can inspire you.  For example, maybe you decide to make costumes, and this leads you in a whole new direction.  I knew people in Hollywood long ago that decorated jeans for rock stars and made 2K for each pair of pants.  Bling might help you this year.  Maybe it’s hair ornaments.  Leo rules the hair.  Create joy in your life and for others.  Nurture the same in children.

Whether you are male or female, people with Cancer Sun or Cancer rising are some of the best chefs in the world.  Jupiter in Leo in your 2nd might be suggesting you make some extra money through your skills with food.  Cake decorating?  Catering?  Appetizers for parties?  The bling theme of Jupiter in Leo means it needs to be fancy food, or for a special occasion, and above all — it must look good !!  Use your imagination — it might be a cooking class for kids as part of a summer camp.  I knew 2 teachers on summer break that turned a garage into a 2 week art camp for kids and they ran 3 sessions that summer.  They made a profit, had fun, and planted seeds with the children that could last a lifetime…

LEO RISING — Jupiter here could expand your waistline J — remember Jupiter expands.  Some of you will have children.  Some will have new children in their lives through marriage.  (Step-children)  So yes, you could gain some weight, but the more subtle definition is that you will gain confidence in yourself and your sense of self-esteem will grow.  You could have a special talent this year that delivers exactly the information needed to the right person.  It might be just a part of your life, or it could be something like teaching a class.  Be conscious of your integrity.  Be whole-hearted in whatever you pursue this year.  Conduct yourself with dignity and figure your activities might be on tomorrow’s front page.  Guard your reputation.  Saturn still in your 4th could mean there are still some concerns on the home front, perhaps about older relatives.  Or perhaps a roommate has these problems and you are there to offer emotional support?  Don’t buy a house with Saturn in your 4th unless you plan to live there forever J.

Artistic expression feeds your soul.  Especially this year, make some room for art and music and dancing in your life and also for your children.  Sports are so valuable —  besides the good exercise, there is so much to learn — teamwork, cooperation, psychology, visualization,  ethics and honor, etc.  There’s a Fire Trine by sign in the Spring of 2015 — Jupiter trine Saturn and Uranus.  A great time for sports.  There’s a social component.  I can hear it now…”Jenae, you were right on, I signed up for a team and met my true love on the baseball field !!”  So.  Don’t be shy this year, try new things and consciously grow…Jupiter is only in your 1st once in every 12 years… and GOOD LUCK !!!

VIRGO RISING — Jupiter in your 12th is quite subtle.  Very much about keeping a clear conscience and incorporating some kind of daily spiritual practices into your life.  For good health as well as peace of mind.  This could be anything from prayer and meditation, to yoga, to Tai Chi or Che Kung, or simply being grateful for your blessings each day.  There is no better transit than Jupiter in your 12th for getting in touch with your guides and teachers — both visible and invisible.  This is a good transit to check out the works of Edgar Cayce, particularly a book written about him called “Many Mansions”.    Your interest in past lives and karma will grow during the year ahead.  There is another book I read many years ago that made a big impression on me — about where we go and what we do between lives on earth.  The author was Michael Newton.

If you or a loved one has health problems, you can receive excellent care when Jupiter is in your 12th.  Both mental and physical health.  Seeing a nutritional counselor would bring benefits.  So would counseling with your spiritual advisor. What religion doesn’t matter, it’s the INTENTION that counts.

Depending on your whole chart, you might be more inclined to socialize privately, just one on one, this year instead of with groups.  You could be the recipient of a lot of love.  If so, pay it forward.  Plant those seeds.  Do your best to be kind and compassionate to those in need, without thought of reward.

Looking at art and creativity, making beautiful things is very healing.  Do you have a garden?  Art for you, this year, should be the kind of things you can do by yourself — like playing the piano, singing in the shower, growing beautiful plants or houseplants.  Virgo  rules the fabric arts — weaving is like a meditation in itself.  I like to crochet and sew.  All these things can be done solo.  Maybe you decide to make gifts this year instead of buy them J ?

LIBRA RISING — Jupiter in your 11th really accents socializing with friends and groups.  What a whirl !!!  You’re going to be quite busy, and some of the socializing will be with your partner and others,  so it’s important that you and your partner like each other’s friends.  It’s a great time to either take a class or teach a class — group activities will be more enjoyable than usual.  Same thing with any kids in your life — more group activities — probably some kind of extra-curricular stuff — maybe a musical at school with all the extra rehearsals,  Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, martial arts/sports.  Or  just hanging out with friends.  This would be good time to get to know your kids’ friends and their parents.  You could meet some great new friends. If you have kids, this year they would want to plan a theme party.  At the very least, put some special effort into the Halloween costumes — they will remember it all their lives.

Another possibility is that Libra rising makes you quite sensitive to the needs and wishes of your partner.  There may be some kind of socializing that helps your partner’s career this year.  Getting involved in the planning of the event brings you benefits beyond the event.  Earlier we talked about being whole-hearted with Jupiter in Leo.  If you can immerse yourself in planning the company picnic, or the office Xmas party, or the County Fair, then do so, but not if you  don’t feel  100% committed.  IN that case, help out by doing something small only.  Sincerity is a key to success this year.  For all of us…

It’s probably a good idea to limit the amount of activities due to Saturn in your 2nd.  There’s only so many hours in a day and a budget that needs you to pay attention to it.  For best results with Jupiter, we need a bit of moderation.  Maybe 2 activities would be a lot better than 4 J…

SCORPIO RISING — Jupiter is in your career house during its transit through Leo.  The 10th is also your personal definition of success.  Saturn is still transiting through Scorpio and these two planets will be in square by sign as well as a couple of time by degree.  A square is a symbol of challenge, frustration, and the need to make adjustments.  It is ALSO a symbol of hard work and BIG accomplishments.  I would think it would be very important that you take yourself, your goals, and your life very SERIOUSLY this year.  It is not a year to be frivolous or waste energy on non-essentials.  Make your work count, make your money count, and above all — respect yourself.  Authority  figures in your life may be teachers or guides.  Your experience in this area could be either positive or negative or both.  Sometimes a bad boss acts like a shortcut in our lives; it’s the quickest  way to learn how to be a good boss.  I would think any clashes would be not directed at you so much as pressure about which projects or departments take priority.  Saturn in Scorpio might be suggesting budget problems at work.  Scorpio rules insurance.  And regardless of what is claimed, those of us in the USA KNOW that health insurance prices have gone way up.  So you will need to have the self-control not to react negatively, and being respectful of authority figures as  well as yourself is one important goal you can achieve.

I think it is also important to know your limitations BEFORE you volunteer for a big project at work.  The square is asking you to find the balance between time for yourself and time at work.  It’s not that you can’t do that big project — you can,  and succeed beautifully — but more how to protect your health  so you don’t get too run down.  The biggest challenge will probably be to keep perspective — ie,  it’s not all about you.  A raise or a promotion is likely with Jupiter in your 10th

Be professional, be self-disciplined, and read books about what good management and leaders are made of.  Try watching “Undercover Boss”.

SAGITTARIUS RISING — Jupiter is your chart ruler, so you need to give Jupiter more weight in your chart, whether natal or transits.  Jupiter in Leo transits through your 9th house — ITS OWN HOUSE in the natural wheel of the zodiac, SAG IS the 9th house.  So this is pretty interesting, plus there’s a trine to Uranus and Saturn in the Spring of 2015.  Do you want to travel?  Teach? Write? Go on a spiritual retreat?  Return to school?  All of these are possibilities.  The 9th rules ceremonies, too.  Maybe a grown child is getting married?  The 9th is also licensing and the justice system.  You might attain some kind of degree or certification during this next year.  If you have legal troubles, having these transits would point to a better outcome.  This is a great year to publish if you like to write.  SAG rules France, Italy, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.  Might you be travelling to any of these countries?

On the spiritual level, attending a workshop or committing to a course of study is very appropriate.

Maybe you’re sending a child off to college or hosting a foreign student.  Celebrating other cultures is a great way to express the energy.  Foreign food, foreign music, foreign movies — follow what you have a passion for and you can end up meeting kindred spirits.  Maybe you win a  trip to the Cannes Film Festival.  Enter contests this year, you could win !!!

The worst way you could play this transit is to hoist a few too many at a party or celebration and get busted for driving intoxicated.  DO remember that moderation is best when dealing with the euphoric nature of Jupiter.

CAPRICORN RISING — Jupiter in Leo transits through your 8th house — shared money, shared power, shared love and intimacy.  Big money comes under this house — large corporations, government, taxes, insurance, inheritance, etc.  It would easier to get a loan with Jupiter in your 8th — if you need one, fine, just don’t go overboard and run up a bunch of debt.  Any children under your care and responsibility need thorough training in money management this year.  Teach them before they leave your home.  We’ve all heard the stories about ignorant college students maxing out 4 credit cards.  On the other hand, you may be trying to help a grown child finance something important — a home, college, a car?  Try to avoid co-signing, and write paperwork outlining the terms and conditions and have them sign it.  You want to show them how the real world works this year…

This is also a good time period to update your will, trust, insurance policies, etc.  Just don’t sign on a Mercury retrograde (10-4 –10-25-14, 1-21—2-11-15).  It’s a great year to set up investments for long-term results. This could be college plans for kids, retirement plans for yourself or for you and your partner, or just general investments.

The romance in your life can become stronger if you put some effort into play and recreation with your partner.  Try planning date nights, or short trips to resorts that you would both enjoy.  People that stay together while their raising children sometimes fall apart when the children are grown because they neglect to develop hobbies and interests that they can share together as a couple.  Think about the future you’d like to create.  Consider adding in some kind of sport or exercise that you could enjoy together for many years to come.

Investing in some art that pleases you might also be a possibility.  There is such a wide range of prices for art these days that almost anyone can bring some beauty into their home.  Better yet, create some yourself J…

AQUARIUS RISING — Jupiter is in your 7th house of marriage and partnerships.  Your luck and opportunities come through your partner this year.   Business partnerships included.  Your mate’s career might be going a lot better than yours.  Saturn in your 10th can be challenging.  If you have problems with your career, try strategizing with your mate for new ideas and solutions.  Be of good cheer when something wonderful happens for your partner.  You have great capacity to be a true friend.  I read this once… “A true friend commiserates with our sorrows and rejoices with our victories”.   Your turn will come.  Be patient for now.  Saturn teaches us what we most need to know.

Jupiter in your 7th indicates some travel with a partner, some out of town vacations, even scouting long-distance colleges as a family outing.  This can be a fun and affectionate time.  You may be the recipient of a lot of generosity and good will.  IF a partner needs to make a trip without you, at least you can remain in close touch through today’s technology.

I have seen people either marry or divorce when EITHER Saturn or Jupiter enters their 7th.  No way to tell without examining each individual chart.  If you’re having marriage problems, Jupiter might be indicating some counseling sessions to improve communication.  There are also a lot of good self-help books out there, too.  My late Father always said…”If you want to change someone, then change yourself.”  The 7th tends to reflect aspects of ourselves that we’re not acknowledging — easier to see it coming at us through a partner.  SO, if something in a partner is bothering you, best to take a good look at yourself, too.  Jupiter, like Neptune, brings a great capacity for tolerance and forgiveness.

PISCES RISING — Jupiter in Leo is moving through your 6th house of health, work, and service to others .  You can receive excellent health care if you need it.  You can also serve as an advocate for someone who is ill, asking the right questions at the doctor and helping them the answers and options they need.

This is a great transit to teach children to love and care for a pet.  It might be a rescue pet, or a gift from someone else.  Wonderful to teach them about the wonders of nature, and about being responsible for a dependent.

If you work a job, it’s important to find joy in your work.  Jupiter in the 6th could mean you get a raise or a promotion, or even change jobs.  A happy worker is more productive anyway.  If you are a supervisor, be sure a praise your staff when you can.  Most people thrive with kind words.

Leo rules the heart.  Anything you can do to help your heart be healthy and happy is a good thing this year.  There’s an inconjunct to the Pisces Ascendant and I’ve been thinking about what this might mean. One thing for sure it means take good care of your feet, too.  Anything from pedicures,  to foot reflexology,  to wearing the right shoes for your feet.  People with strong Pisces placements usually love to dance.  I knew a woman who broke a bone in her foot and she couldn’t dance (ballet) for 3 years.  Torture.  Neptune is currently in Pisces.  Dreamy, sensitive, imaginative — but you still need to be aware of where you are walking.  I knew a woman who missed a simple curb at the street corner — down she went and ended up with back surgery.  Pisces is a dual sign — head in the clouds, feet on the ground.  For years to come, you need to be very aware of your physical reality.  Stay grounded, because lots of incredible mystical events and insights are coming your way…

Back to Jupiter in Leo.  This is a great time to teach children the principles of good health and nutrition.  Make meal times special — it’s not necessary to have fancy food, it’s the love that counts.  Teach children the value of First Aid, how and when  to call for help (911), and assemble a small First Aid kit for home use.  Band aids, bandages, sterile gauze, anti-bac ointment, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol.  Remember these are life lessons and traditions they will carry into their adulthood.

Sometimes people with Pisces rising work hard but get taken advantage of by manipulative types.  Jupiter in Leo can give you more confidence to stand up for yourself when a situation doesn’t feel right to you.  Saturn in your 9th aids you in standing up for truth and justice.  You can be a hero J…

Well, that’s it for now, folks.  Pray for peace, Jenae

Dear Friends and Readers, There have been certain thoughts on my mind, running through the background of recent days.  I decided that perhaps I should share them with you.  This grew stronger, into conviction,  that I must write this down now.  So here it is…

I have studied, read, watched the news, talked to many people.  Looking for the manifestation of this coming Grand Cross in our world today.  It seems to me that there are 2 worlds running simultaneously.  Many people are on their own personal magical mystery tour, Field of Dreams, whatever you want to call the incredible process that happens when we put our small, individual will in the hands of the Universal Will. I personally am working on trust this year, that an apparent obstacle may actually be an opportunity and that I need to trust the process, that the Universe knows what it is doing.  And the more I do this, the better things turn out.  So I am making a bit of progress personally.  I pray and meditate daily that the world will have the same wonderful opportunities.

The other world seems to be even more chaotic, so much suffering and pain.  I itch to fix it but all I can do, all any of us can do, is to start from where we are and let the love fan out like stones rippling a pond….

I read a book years ago called “Bringers of the Dawn”.  It was so controversial at the time that meetings were held, to discuss the book. One of the points in the book was that there would be increasing pressure on humanity to make good choices, and that it started with small things.  Do we throw the glass bottle in the garbage or save it to recycle?  Do we share extra food with our neighbors or do we let it go to waste?  Do we get into ego competitions at work or do we  strive to be humble and sincere with our co-workers?  Do we assume a  child knows nothing and fail to recognize the wisdom of their soul?  ETC. ETC.

Most of the people I know well are following the Light.  I look all the time for signs of hope and share them with other people.  And I have found one…

In our world today, there are no enlightened and 100% sincere government leaders that I am aware of.  I have a passion for the principles of good management.  What I see today is many leaders padding their own nests and that of their yes-men, lying and double-talking to their constituents, talking the talk with no intention of walking it…they seem to have forgotten the definition of public service.

But I believe there is ONE leader who is truly the shining light of  the world at this dark time in our history.  It is our Pope Francis and I  say “our” because  he belongs to the people.  I am not Catholic but I love him just the same.  I saw an interesting “60 Minutes” on TV and the reporter mentioned that Pontiff means “builder of bridges”.

And so, dear Readers, I introduce to you, Pope Francis, by looking at his birth chart.  He was born 12-17-1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I used horary astrology this time and just let the Ascendant be what time I was casting the chart.  Funny coincidence, his Moon and Ascendant in Aquarius were right on my Sun.  This puts his Sun, North Node in Sag and his Jupiter in  early Cap in the 11th house of  friends and groups.  He would rather ride with his fellow bishops that be driven in the Popemobile. For the same teamwork and group reasons, he refused to reside in the Vatican Palace which was too fancy and too isolated and instead took up residence closer to the other apartments in the Vatican.  He has friends from many different races, religions, backgrounds. Sag is the sign that rules religion and philosophy and foreign contacts.  Sag people usually are citizens of the world, travel a lot and have big walls of  books in their homes.   In his chart in the money houses, Saturn in Pisces in the 2nd is exactly conjunct the Part of Fortune and closely opposing Neptune in Virgo in the 8th.  And what has he said?  That he wants a POOR  Church, one that is actively seeking to alleviate suffering through compassionate love for the ill and afflicted, rather than a wealthy Church that does nothing for the people. (You would think he knows astrology, it’s such a perfect definition of Pisces:)) And what has he done?  He is not only clearing out the problems at the Vatican Bank (8th house) but he is finding ways to relieve ostentatious bishops from their posts.

I read that he was born into a family of accountants — his 4th house of home and family is ruled by Mars in Libra in his 9th, and he has Uranus in the 4th in Taurus.  So he probably is comfortable with numbers and accounting and likes the books to balance. Looking at Uranus as the ruler of Aquarius, he seems comfortable with the modern gadgets — social media, computers, etc. HIs Jupiter in early Capricorn is widely conjunct Mercury and both are trine Uranus — a LOT of  travel and communication.

He has Chiron in Gemini next to his South Node in the 5th house of children.  He likes children and especially the ill ones.

HIs chart shows that he is practical, honest, unconventional, blunt but kind.  What I think is so special about him is he lives his life as an example to all of us while striving to bring Light back into his Church.  It is a fact that when various human  structures get rigid and too enchanted with their own opinions, the Light will go somewhere else.  You can see this over and over again by studying history.

So on this Easter morning, which is the symbol for resurrection and a new beginning, let us say a prayer for the world and for Pope Francis, and remember that if one honest, humble, good man can shake up the world to make it better, albeit peacefully, then by following his example, we can do the same. Blessings, Jenae
