WISH UPON A STAR — ASTROLOGY AND YOUR BUSINESS
Happy Holiday dear Readers and Friends, I have noticed the last few days that a lot of business people have posted comments. Here are a few general rules about astrology and business that you can apply to your own situation.
The standard chart for a business is cast for the date the papers are filed, in the place that the papers are filed, and for 12 noon. That automatically puts the Sun in the 10th house of career, reputation, and public life. When I’m working with a business client I also like to compare that with the owner(s) chart and I also like to run a chart for the date, time and the physical location that the business opens to the public. This is usually different than the location where the initial papers are filed. It can get a little more complicated if the location for doing business is different than the main office or headquarters. In a situation like that, you still would want as much information as possible, and you would be looking for main themes across the charts.
Let’s say the business is a person — a musician, an artist, a writer, etc. Publishing new work and promoting it should be done when either Mercury is forward AND in favorable transit, or when Mercury is forward and in very good aspect to the person’s natal. I’d be checking on Venus, too. Same thing with a retail clothing business — you would want positive Venus transits as well as Mercury.
One of my clients owns a wine cellar with a large online presence. They offer spirits from all over the world. In this case, the position of Jupiter in the original chart and the Jupiter transits would be important for two reasons. One, Jupiter rules “adult beverages” and also the long distance factor comes into play. For this business, long distance is their importing and also their shipping. Jupiter transiting once every 12 years over the Sun in the 10th of the business chart should be bringing them a MAJOR opportunity. Etc. Saturn transiting through the 6th house of a business chart could indicate some issues concerning employees. Neptune transiting through the 8th house of a business chart could be a warning to keep an eye on the books — mistakes in accounting and taxes, possible embezzlement — in that situation you’d want to look very carefully at any other aspects transiting Neptune is making to the chart. You’d have to find more than just Neptune in the 8th — that could simply be charitable donations from the company to the community.
There’s an old saying in astrology…You have to find something three times in three different ways in the chart for something to manifest on the physical plane.
Construction and tool businesses — check the Mars positions carefully. Landscaping — Venus/Taurus. Food businesses, both wholesale and retail — Cancer. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which is another symbol for “the people” as in the public. The Moon position is important in any public business.
Let’s say you have a business or you are about to start one. You could look ahead and find the perfect day to begin. If you have a business that is not doing well, you might consider a small name change, just so you could file NEW papers on an auspicious day and thus help turn your fortunes around.
In my own chart at this time, Jupiter is transiting through my 10th house of career. The long distance factor is a perfect illustration of both my clients and this blog. The site I use shows me what countries are reading my blogs. I am having so much fun seeing the flags of all the different nations. Reminds me of my childhood — I grew up in a factory that was like a miniature U.N. — people from all over the world. In my natal chart, Jupiter is conjunct my Sun in the house of service to others. And now transiting Jupiter is in trine to the natal position and my Sun. What a perfect time to enjoy my work and reach out to people from all over the world. Your search terms show Venus is the most viewed. If Venus is what you want, then Venus is what you shall get :)) Stay tuned…Blessings, Jenae
